Summary
"A big name observing me? Jesus." Jack’s tone could not be drier if he tried. "And for how long am I supposed to be this mystery woman's personal medical tutor?"
"Until she's satisfied with her knowledge for her role, they said," Gloria replied, wincing slightly in anticipation of Jack’s response.
Jack let out a humorless laugh. "So, four years plus residency, then? Fantastic." He gestured around the bustling ER. "Gloria, we're slammed every night. I don't have time to babysit a wannabe TV doctor. You know how this is going to go? She’s gonna come in here, faint at the first sight of blood, and then she’ll go and play a mediocre doctor who falls in love with their patient and have this forbidden romance because it’s a conflict of interest."
Gloria raised an eyebrow, “Sounds like a very specific plot point. Care to elaborate on which show you have in mind?”
“How about all of them.” Jack muttered darkly.
Or... Jack went to med school and didn't sign up to babysit some Hollywood starlet trying to play a doctor on TV.

Summary
“I’ll admit him upstairs. Recommend an ablation within 48 hours.”
“You have a talent for saying what I’m already thinking.” Jack said.
Her dark eyes fixed on him then. Really fixed on him. Without the chaos of the erratic monitor, without the rush of stabilizing the patient, there was a quiet intensity to her gaze that sent a slow tingle down his spine. She gave him a slow, deliberate once-over, taking her time, her smile shifting into something nearly predatory.
“In that case, I’d better not say the next thing I’m thinking.” Her voice dipped, low and almost conspiratorial. “Might get us both in trouble.”
Jack’s pulse skipped again. From anyone else, that kind of directness would have felt reckless, maybe even arrogant. But from her, Jack found himself oddly charmed, utterly defenseless.
Or.... Jack Abbot's adventures in romance, with as many reverse tropes thrown in as author can fit.
