He'd dredged up everything that had ever mentioned Lin Ling's name on the internet- from the white third place ribbon he'd won in first grade for an art competition, to the animal shelter he'd volunteered at as a teen, to the posts on a private (but easy for him to hack) account about his new job working in Nice's advertising company. He'd even found and followed the Moon fan page connected to his email, though of course it hadn't posted in months.
(He noticed the lack of a Nice fan page connected to any one of his emails. No, he wasn't salty about it, he just... noticed it. He was allowed to be aware of things.)
His mandatory therapist called it an unhealthy obsession he should let go of.
He called it grief.

Perhaps he always has been, a part of him that had been lost underneath his perfect hero persona and forgotten about, or maybe it was just something that had been brought out of him when he met Lin Ling. Whatever the case may be, it doesn’t really matter. Not to him anyway.
