AN: As of 7/20/18 I will be rewriting chapters 9 and 10. Going back and reading them, they felt a bit chaotic but I'm rewriting them. I'm also taking it in a different direction than I was originally planning so I need to tweak a few things in the last chapter for it to work. -

Summary
When Shen Yuan dies during a battle with Tianlang-jun, he wakes up once again and finds himself back in his original body, right where he was prior to being transmigrated into PIDW. He struggles to maintain a stable state as he realizes that his friends are no longer by his side, and so he does his best to move on with his life of modern technology and lonesomeness.
Yet when he steps outside and realizes there is a subtle hum of qi in his surroundings, he realizes it might not just be modern technology he's living with. And he might not be as alone as he thought either.
OR: Shen Yuan dies again and returns to his original body. He thinks he's alone, only to find out cultivation actually exists and his friends are still with him.

It started as work. Yuuji saves lives—that’s what he does. That should’ve been the end of the story.
But the patient in Room 214 keeps pulling him back in.
Maybe it’s just that the man is lonely. That’s what Yuuji tells himself the first time he checks in off-duty. And then again the second time. And the third. It’s only fair, right? Someone’s got to make sure he’s getting the full inpatient experience. Flowers, a stuffed animal, and a homemade bento—rice bunnies and all.
But the more time he spends with Satoru, the more confusing things get.
Like why does he keep looking at Yuuji like that? Why does he keep calling him 'angel' like it means something? Why does Yuuji like it?
What begins as kindness quickly spirals into something Yuuji doesn't quite understand, but immediately wants more of it. He’s got a heart full of feelings, a bouquet of crushed flowers, and a new, slightly inconveniently timed realization about his own sexuality.
Good thing Satoru is here for it, even if he's the cause of it.
