Summary
He keeps moving forward at a steady pace, resisting the urge to run because how fucking embarrassing would that be, running because he missed them, and as he breaks through the treeline he shouts, “Oi, oi—what took you guys so long? It's been—”
And then he freezes, because yes, actually—something is very, very wrong.
The Sunny is anchored just off shore, close enough to see the deck but far enough away that the crew has had to take the Mini Merry to make land. Scattered across the beach in various stages of chaos—rolling around, yelling, fighting—are his crew but not his crew, so similar and yet so, so different. They look younger, fresher, and whatthefuck there, on the deck of the Sunny just peering over the railing, he catches a flash of green—his own green hair—
“Ah, fuck,” he grunts, and then immediately turns back around because no, actually, he does not want to deal with this.

Summary
They didn't want Ace to come along, but Ace had wanted to visit Pops anyway, and what were they gonna do to stop him? Already injured like he was?
Plus, there was something… strange, about the situation. Ace didn't know why exactly, there was just something itching at the back of his mind telling him he needed to be there.
He could feel the newcomer’s haki before they'd even gotten close. It was strong. Far stronger than Ace had expected; but… it was also warm. He could tell through their haki that they were, as Haruta assumed, dangerous — very dangerous — but they didn't feel like a threat, necessarily. It was so strange. The presence felt familiar.

Summary
For once, the day was quiet. Or at least, relatively quiet considering the crew that was involved. It seemed their two weeks of constant hell had finally given way to peace, the days empty of rival crews and Marines looking for a fight and the nights quiet as only a gentle breeze blew. But best of all was the fact that after their many days at sea, they had finally reached land, the island rising up in front of the bow. God was Marco excited to see the island's shores, the long grass that swayed in the sunlight. But first things first, he had a lover to find.
Not that finding Ace was hard to do, not when there was a shower of sparks and swirling flames and suddenly he was appearing on a railing. His entire face was lit up in childish glee at the sight of the island, looking like he was about ready to leap off the railing to be the first on the dock. The afternoon sun gleamed on his tanned skin, his dark freckles looking like little embers had been dusted across him.
Or, dark secrets come to light and Ace handles them in his own self-destructive way.
