  1. Summary

"For you will always remember you were once a King and I was Queen. And that pittance, to remember, is all that we're permitted. A life gone by, of sacrifices made. And then we're told to relinquish it, only to remember. Dusty memories, as our reward. Personally, I would rather have what I had built—or be innocent of all that I'm missing." —Susan, former Queen, of Finchley.

A world where Susan was neither re-admitted nor abandoned, because the woman did accomplish everything she was told to do, and for her siblings not to follow her was unthinkable. They may have lost what they once spent fifteen years building, in a world from which they were exiled. But that doesn't mean they can't move on and build again.

And that certainly doesn't mean they can't dabble in extraordinary things on the side.

In which Aslan told the Pevensies to go live in the world they were born in. And so they did.

    Summary

It’s not that he’s “hung up on The Menace” as Dionysus so delicately put it. It’s just that it’s a bad idea. Awful, really. Percy Jackson’s got off-limits stamped across his pretty little forehead. If Zeus had sent Dionysus to that demigod camp over a nymph, then Poseidon would certainly toss him into Tartarus if he went near his son.

    Summary

Poseidon was waiting for them where the water met the sand, wearing his usual Hawaiian shirt and a Margaritaville branded fisherman’s hat. He didn’t seem angry, and nothing particularly divine was pouring off of him in waves.

They took another step forward. “Hey dad,” he said. “Uh, what brings you here?”

The odd look on Poseidon’s face didn’t go away, and the God let out a heavy sigh. “We’ve lost a good one.”

Or: Poseidon shows up at Camp Half-Blood one morning, and Percy and Annabeth learn that even the Gods mourn some mortals.

If people won’t stop saying that personal loyalty is Percy’s fatal flaw, then he might as well show them how fatal it can be.

    Summary

“I bought you quite more than your drink, in 1689,” Dream countered, the turn of his lips and pinched brow suggesting he hadn't yet decided whether to be offended.

“And I’ll never forget it,” softer, real, Hob promises, until overtaken by a shit-eating grin. “Which sufficiently made up for the time before that when I barely got three words in before you walked out on me altogether to go make a decent playwright out of Will fucking Shaxberd.”

And there was the preening, subtle though it was. An elegant eyebrow twitched upward as at some amusement. “You would fashion me in your debt, Hob Gadling?”

    “Nah. I’d see you Tuesday.”

A beat passed filled with genuine consideration, enough to make Hob’s heart leap, his weight shifting forward in his seat. “Tuesday, then.”
