Indrid - After being hit over the head with a shovel and dragged through the woods by a bike chain - leaves Kepler like a man about to die. He has been seen by a human, even if Aubrey says she has handled it, he is not willing to risk it. More than that, he flew back to his RV and was almost certainly spotted on the way.
He cannot handle another Point Pleasant.
He leaves Kepler Southward on US-220 to US-250, from there he gets on I-81 South to Tennesee. Right before Exit 175 towards Natural Bridge, his gas light turns on. He stops for gas. He is, perhaps, not the most normal customer.

Goddd I love how you can feel the stress that Indrid feels of his situation here, it's worded so well to make you feel the tension he's feeling and all the second-hand awkwardness from him at the gas station /very positive. Love how fics from this author are written it's very pleasing.

Indrid continued matter-of-factly, counting on his fingers as he spoke, “You’re not coercing me to do anything I don’t wish to, and I can choose to stop at any time. You also understand that just because I can see the future doesn’t mean I can always do something about it.” He said that point in a tone that suggested Duck should agree. He bobbed his head once in wide-eyed assurance. “Additionally, we’ll find a way to ensure my home and I are cleared of suspicion from the townspeople.”

Mm really really good fic, love seeing what could essentially be like a variant of survivor's guilt with Indrid, with knowing something will happen and thinking you could've prevented it but in the end just being in that same awful outcome no matter what you did. The scenes when Barclay showed up were super sweet, too, I love them so much your honour.

Rodger huffed in acknowledgement.
There was a small pause. Rodger’s eyes began to feel tired, and he stood up straight to collect his thoughts and his wild daughter.
“Hey, wait,” Sparkle Man pleaded.
Rodger tilted his head, stopping in his tracks.
“What’s your name?”
Another brief pause.
“Rodger. You?”
Sparkle Man glared at him, as if considering whether his name fit him. He sent Rodger a flashy smile. “Name’s Glisten, detective. Pleasure to meet ya.”

Summary
The player's Salt Route run was successful: Every resident, bar from a few stragglers, have been done away with. Atop the mansion, Spamton asked the player if he made them proud, limping off back to his garbage can when they told him the truth. Desperate for a better ending, the player starts emptying their pockets of items before ultimately deciding to reset their save file altogether - and by freeing up all their pocket space, they unintentionally let loose a certain clown around town. A clown who, by sheer chance, saw everything Spamton was forced to do. In spite of the eventual reset looming over the save file, that same clown decides to pay his old trash-bound chum a final visit, hoping he can provide him with something less depressing than a lonely last night in a world doomed to destroy itself.
