Drew gave Piper a hard look. “So, what’s your deal? All your little friends are celebrating the fact that you saved the world. Shouldn’t you be with them?”
Not all my friends, Piper thought bitterly before she could catch herself. She pulled her knees closer to her chest and looked away from Drew. “You wouldn’t get it.”
“Try me.” Piper just kept her jaw clenched shut so Drew huffed. “Fine then, let me guess. You’re here instead of there because one of the most important people in your life lied to your face for who knows how long, then sacrificed themself in a major battle of a cosmic war, leaving everyone to call them a hero while you’re stuck with these mixed feelings you feel like you can’t voice because nobody wants to accept the fact that their actions had emotional consequences. How close am I?”
Piper gaped at her. “How did you do that?”
Drew took a long drag on her cigarette. “Your experiences aren’t as unique as you’d like to think they are.”

After the final battle with Gaea, Piper is left with grief she can't quite grasp. She finds help in the single most unlikely source imaginable.

“Shut up,” Reyna pinches Piper’s nose.

When Clarisse attends Coach Hedge's wedding out in California, one thing leads to another and she accidentally saves New Rome from a monster attack. The praetors insist on honoring her with golden laurels and a fancy ceremony, even though Clarisse tries to get out of it.
She's shoved into a toga, forced to reckon with her jealousy of the Roman camp, and revisited by old friends and flames from Camp Half-Blood. When Silena shows up to support her old friend, the girls discuss what happened between them so many years ago. And maybe, just maybe, they rekindle an old flame.

She’d had mere moments, where Autolycus had had days. And he’d been there in the moment in the spirit realm when Xena kissed her, and time had stopped and the earth had fallen away. He’d felt that, from Xena’s side.
Why did you kiss me? The question had been burning loops in her mind ever since.

A slow-burn romantic semi-comedy about two useless friends sharing a kiss and then panicking about it for weeks.
Begins with a prologue set the morning after episode s2:e13, The Quest, just before the start of A Necessary Evil. The rest of the story then begins about a month later (but definitely before ADITL).
(I’m using the canonical ‘kiss’ in The Quest as a starting point, but messing with canon a wee bit, since Aphrodite gets involved and technically we hadn’t met her in the Xenaverse yet. But she wrote herself into my story, I was hardly going to say no.)

Gabrielle is a bard traveling across Greece telling stories. She’s participating in an arts festival in Athens. Xena is also in Athens, but to deliver a criminal to justice. A twist of fate brings the two women together, and they’ll have to understand their feelings for one another.
A little bit of Gabrielle&Aphrodite, just because. The poems are my own.

That was probably true, since Gabrielle had last said it just three weeks ago. It didn’t stop Gabrielle from saying it anyway: “Why won’t you stop using our frying pan as a weapon?”
