pretty much what it says on the tin, a natlan archon quest rewrite. characters are still a part of their respective tribes BUT they don't get along 100% of the time (probably not even 45% of the time) and there's a little bit more depth to each tribe and character, or at least I hope. their weapon descriptions will differ to be more based on conventional genshin weapons and not motorcycles and dj tables (:
mechanics such as phlogiston, the presence of saurians, the wayob/ancient names remain relatively unchanged, but the ode of resurrection, the pilgrimage, and the night warden wars get a new coat of paint to be darker in tone.the traveler is going to have less of a white savior ass role in the story (sorry not sorry) because I REALLY want to put the actual natlan characters in the spotlight. yes, that means they don't get an ancient name.
chapter names will not 1:1 correspond to the quest names! (just a heads up!)disclaimer: it is NOT my intention to depict the tribes as 'barbaric' or 'less civilized' for warring with each other. I felt as though their trust for each other was unfounded in the game, I want to rectify that.

Summary
There's a strange, unfamiliar feeling that lingers in the air between them, with no way of knowing if it's shared. It almost feels like some kind of rift, forcing them apart and then back together.
No – it's something more… real. More tangible.
More terrifying."Hey, um… Mike?"
Will’s voice is distant, muffled by their backs turned to each other. There’s a shuffle of blankets as his weight shifts, but Mike doesn’t turn to face him.
"Yeah?"
"...Were you lying?"
Silence.
"...Mike?"
Following the ending of S5 vol 1., Mike and Will navigate their feelings for each other, dangerous misunderstandings, an ultimately manipulated story, and, unknowingly, how to break their curse when it inevitably all comes down to them to save the world -- and each other.
**this fic IS byler, but it's written into the story in a realistic way that makes the story and especially mike's character make much more sense. him, will, and especially el, deserved so much better.
plot holes and (most) of our grievances will be fixed in this story.

Will and Mike don't really talk anymore. Will still lives with the Wheelers, and every moment is awkward tension. During this particularly hot summer, the two boys spend an awful lot of time together, awakening old memories and feelings.
PRE SEASON 5 - Vecna and the Upside Down were destroyed at the end of season 4!!
