    Summary

A year after the events of The Long Game, Ilya wakes up alone in his apartment in Boston. It turns out he's in an alternate universe where Scott Hunter stopped playing hockey before his and Shane's careers even got started. The Ilya from that universe wakes up next to Shane, a man he hasn't talked to in five years.
The series includes the story of what happens when the Ilya's switch places, a prequel story about the other Shane and Ilya when they were apart for those years, a story about what happens with the other Shane and Ilya after the Ilyas switch back to their own lives, and a story where the Shanes switch places a year later.

”You love that I am boring,” Shane quips and it comes out more confidently than he expects it to.

“Yes,” Ilya agrees. “I tell you this all the time.”

    “You do?”

    “Da.”

“I can’t remember you ever saying anything like that to me,” Shane muses honestly and even though he himself is uninjured, Ilya winces slightly.

“Well, I do now. Tell you I love your boring. Tell you I love you.”

    “What changed?”

After an injury on the ice, Shane cannot remember the last ten years of his life with Ilya. Ilya resolves to help.

    Summary

There are so many things these days that Nikolai Petrov can’t believe. He can’t believe he’s actually going to get to play professional hockey. Can’t believe he isn’t going to be relegated to some second rate Russian league in Moscow. But most of all, he can’t believe that he’s standing on Ilya Rozanov’s doorstep.

    ---

The Ottawa Centaurs have a new Russian rookie - the first Russian rookie Ilya's ever had, and Ilya is determined to make him feel welcome. Petrov finds that Rozanov and Hollander aren't at all what he expected (Hollander is somehow even more Canadian than he thought possible), but they somehow make him feel just a little more at home in this strange new country.
