Summary
When Kakashi is injured after being hit with an unknown jutsu, his career as a shinobi, and even his life, hang in the balance. Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura fear the loss of their teacher and stick close by. Just when it seems all hope is lost, a mysterious stranger from Kakashi’s past suddenly appears.
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto. Not really canon, as I introduce some characters sooner than the anime does and have a couple other non canon things planned, but tried to blend in a way that feels canon. This piece takes place sometime before the Chunin exams. Did my best to keep the characters true to themselves. This is my very first fan fic piece. Multi-chapter, will try to keep updates as regular as possible. Also, do not read if you don’t want spoilers and have not watched Shippuden, as Shippuden reveals a few things the first series did not. Please read, review, and enjoy!

Summary
Kakashi can no longer ignore a certain blonde haired child. He can no longer sit by and see Naruto with no one… alone and practically abandoned in the world.
But he soon learns he’s hopelessly inadequate and under qualified to take care of a child, especially one as hurt as Naruto.
He should have stayed in his lane. His path on the road of life was too dark and he was too lost and in too much pain to be what the sunshine child needed.
If only he’d remained a scarecrow, alone and protecting the village, not letting anyone in. Then he wouldn’t have let Minato-sensei down in the worst way possible.

Frustrated by the way that AO3 would change or ignore HTML code I inserted, and unable to find an up-to-date, detailed guide, I decided to investigate the functionality of every tag that is permitted by the platform.
I learned a lot, and hopefully you can too!
Planned content:
Chapter 1 - Appearance Tags (tags which format text, and insert lines, etc.)
Chapter 2 - Functionality Tags (tags which do something; e.g. creating links to other pages, hover-over text, insert images, etc.)
Chapter 3 - Layout Tags (tags which affect the placement of the text on the page)
Chapter 4 - Tables (all by themselves because they’re a bit more complicated the other tags)
Chapter 5 - Global Attributes (general elements within tags that work on most tags)
Chapter 6 - Tips and Tricks (stuff I’ve learned about using HTML on AO3 the hard way so you don’t have to)
