Good god this series is so good! I have like…5 fics that updated that I’ve been anxiously waiting for to update and despite the fact that they did within just this week…yeah, I’m not touching those until I’m full caught up on this. THIS IS TOP PRIORITY or else I’ll forget plot points and eeeeeehhhhhhh I don’t want that. “But one fic hasn’t updated since 2024!” All the more excited out of my skin I’ll be when it does update - IM HERE FOR THE LONG HAUL BABY

When the King of Burgess and the King of Berk agree to a political alliance, it comes with a catch: there is to be a marriage between the two families in order to cement the alliance.
Prince Jackson Overland had only just been thrown into royal life when posed with the choice of marrying a barbaric warrior or letting his sister Mary be the bride. And there was no way he was going to let that happen. Now if he could just keep certain things secret, he'd be happy.
Prince Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third wasn't entirely certain that an arranged marriage would even work, least of all to a stuffed shirt of Burgess. But maybe it would give him the chance to show that dragons and magic wasn't something to be feared.
Can these two princes find equal footing and create the ultimate alliance?

It had actually been a long time since Hiccup had thought about how he would die.
When he was young, every sunrise was another gamble to see if he would get himself eaten by a dragon or somehow manage to fall off one of Berk’s many cliffs.
Perhaps Winter would finally choose to break his wiry body with illness or he would catch an unfortunate stray battle axe.
Yet here he was, 21, about to die in the wrong place (not a bad age to reach in the Archipelago when you’re Hiccup Haddock, let's be honest).But that was the thing wasn’t it? Hiccup made plenty of marks all in the wrong places.
What if one of those marks was in the future? On one unsuspecting spirit’s affections?

Jack was ready. He was prepared even. Heck, he'd agreed to sacrifice his life for that of Hiccup's and the rest of Berk. He never anticipated waking up again, least of all in his own time. Yet, there was no denying he was back and at this point, Jack was unfazed at the regular reoccurrence of waking up at all when he shouldn't have. At least, this time he would get to say his goodbyes to those he cared about before fading from existence and with the remaining time he had, Jack Frost would do all to ensure the Taliesin Clan lived on through the Seven Brightest Lights and through them, his memories of Berk and the Dragon Riders would survive as well. He appreciated the Big Four's concern and attempts to stop him from fading but he was not about to shy away from the consequences of his decision. Jack was ready.
But when has Jackson Overland's—or, for that matter Jack Frost's—life ever been that normal?

Far away in the north, a bastard sneaked around the kitchens, stealing sweet buns for the sister he couldn't call his own in a castle that didn't want him and never would. Every winter, people died in the city under the claws of beasts the court wizard couldn't keep away, and every winter, it got worse. The king needed to do something, and perhaps the tribe of Barbarians his people had encountered by accident would help. They had dragons, and you know what they said. Dragons were magic.

"Oh gods, oh gods, uh." Jamie's hands fluttered in the air. He wasn’t wearing Frostbiter's bracelet. He didn't know whether to reach for his camera, or grab his gear and bolt, or lie down and give up, and his window of opportunity was closing by the second.
The entity decided for him, picking up speed as it barrelled straight at him. Camera it was then. If he was going to die, then he would die vindicated.

It's the first winter after Pitch's defeat. Jack is happy, he's not alone anymore, and his memories are gradually returning. But when a treasure hunt gone wrong puts Jack and Jamie in danger, flinging them through time and space, they find themselves on an island neither of them have heard of before. Jack's first priority is to get Jamie home safe, but Berk's inhabitants - human and otherwise - are certainly not making it easy.
Knowing they will leave Berk and the Vikings behind as soon as they know how to, Jack is not going to risk the pain of growing close to any of these people (or dragons, for that matter). But Hiccup Horrendous Haddock, wearing his heart on his sleeve, doesn't seem to want to take the hint.

Hijack in the 2020s? Never thought I’d see the day, but it has happened!
This has genuinely rekindled my love of hijack all over again after so many years. I love this fic to death! There aren’t many fics I think are worthy of a reread, but this one certain is. It feels like it has been so long since I read a fic so good that I pass out while reading and easily pick up up again when I wake up.
I’m also mad I can’t give kudos per chapter and as a story collectively. I feel so robbed. 1000/5 gold stars, would recommend over and over again.

“So where’s my room?” Viktor asks, and Jayce looks taken aback.
“This is your room,” Jayce responds to Viktor's confusion.
“Well, if this is my room, I can’t wait to see yours. I wonder if it will be made entirely of gold.” Viktor jokes back, shocked that he’ll have this huge room to himself.
“This is my room too.”

But after Viktor dies, the house won’t stop echoing. A familiar voice in the hallway. Two cups left out. The dent of a body on Viktor’s side of the bed. And eventually, the voice becomes clearer. The silence begins to answer back.
And maybe—if Jayce keeps the curtains drawn, the rug crooked, the cardigan folded just right—Viktor will stay.
