Summary
When Dean finally walked back through the doorway into the Kitchen, Cas finally got a good look at him for the first time since they got home. And immediately his mild concern transformed into full-blown worry. He had a blank and glassy look in his eyes and his hands lay limp at his side. His face was tilted towards the floor, he had stopped walking when he got into the kitchen. Cas feels his period of observation end as Dean raises his down-turned gaze to meet Cas’, and the look in his eyes makes him ache.
“Oh, Dean” Cas’ eyebrows raise in concern, “What’s wrong?”
Or, When Dean refuses to let Cas heal him after a hunt gone wrong, Dean has some big feelings and Cas takes care of him.

But now, the more that Dean thought about it, he hadn’t had a single genuine conversation with someone since his Dad had left. Only small, instinctual flirts, or rehearsed interview questions for a case.
So what does Dean Winchester do when he wants to feel something, but doesn’t want to deal with his emotions?

Or, Dean is depressed and lonely from being on his own. He wants to sleep with someone to soothe his need for human connection. Only, instead of sex, he ends up crying out his sorrows in the arms of a sex worker.

When a swan watches his love lay slack in the mouth of a dog, it does not cry out in agony sitting in a car.

Bruce swallowed, hard, past the lump in his throat. “Tim, sweetheart, I-”
Tim cut him off with the side of his clenched fist pounding on Bruce’s chest. Not angry, or combative, but the sad and desperate hit of a child in turmoil.
“Why.” Tim started again, throwing another weak hit with his fist, tears beginning to well up in his eyes and breaking Bruce’s heart with every second. “Why, if you’re my biological father, am I. So. Short!”

Summary
Batman is lurking a couple of yards away. He’s unnaturally still, glowing lenses pinning Jason under their glare. He seems…more imposing, than usual.
“Batman,” Jason says, wincing at the rasp in his voice. He coughs again, spits on the ground, before straightening his back. His head swims, chest aching with how hard his heart is suddenly beating, but he manages to level Batman with a scowl. “To what do I owe the pleasure.”
Batman doesn’t move. He just…stares.

“I just, um. Wanted you to know. So that I can get over it,” he finished, risking a nervous glance back up at Kon. He watched carefully as Kon’s face melted back into a familiar, soft smile. Tim couldn’t help but wonder if this time, it wasn’t entirely sincere.
“Aw shucks, Rob,” he huffed out a laugh. “You were waiting this whole time to say that, and here I was talking your ear off.”
Tim forced himself to laugh too, for Kon’s sake.
