In a world where some Omegas take multiple mates to form a den pack, and Alphas compete for an Omega's attention and interest to prove themselves worthy of joining the den pack. Where Betas keep everyone else grounded and basically know better, and where Gandalf really shouldn't withhold information. Even for his own amusement.
Or, where Bilbo is an Omega, but never presented, and a good portion of the company are unbonded Alphas, who assume he is a bland Beta, which isn't their fault, as he assumes he will present as a Beta when he does finally present. And then once he does present as an Omega, all hell breaks loose.

“Burglar are you well?” Thorin asked and Bilbo whined, she couldn’t believe the horrible prank was turning this mess. “Oin! Come tend our burglar something is wrong!”
“NO!” Bilbo shouted sitting up quickly while pulling her hood up as well. “Fili just embarrassed me is all.” She said sniffling.
“Is it your beard? It’s a nice beard.” Fili assured, “Better than Kili’s that for sure.”
Bilbo and Kili’s shouts were simultaneous.
Thorin looked at his sister-son curiously, “I didn’t know hobbits grew beards.”

Summary
The journey to Erebor was a grueling affair, marked by blisters, rain, and the constant threat of being eaten. But for Bilbo Baggins, the greatest challenge wasn't the Orcs, it was the sheer logistical nightmare of being a Hobbit in a company of Dwarves who knew absolutely nothing about Hobbit physiology.
Most folk in Middle-earth knew that Hobbits had large, hairy feet. Some knew they had a penchant for seven meals a day. But very few knew about the ears, and almost no one outside the Shire knew about the tails.

“Yes,” said Thorin Oakenshield, one would-be King Under the Mountain, the bane of Bilbo's life and probably the love of his life – or one of them at least. For on Bilbo other side stood Dwalin, silent and stern and bristling with weapons and a great scowl on his face. “Get on the pony, Bilbo.”
