“Shane.” Ilya takes Shane’s head in his hands, squeezes his cheeks so that Shane looks puffy, absurd. Beloved. “I am saying that to me, even though you are retired, you will always be No. 1 hockey player. Fuck Wayne Gretzky.”
That’s what does it, as Ilya knew it would. Shane rears back, spluttering, outraged, trying not to laugh.
“Oh, I have committed blasphemy now. They will take back my citizenship, big crime, very sad.”
Shane smoothes his hands along Ilya’s calves, rests his fingertips on Ilya’s ankles. “Fuck Wayne Gretzky,” he says. He looks like he can’t believe what he’s saying. Ilya wonders, distantly, if he can get it on tape to play back to himself when things feel particularly bleak. “We can live in exile together. I don’t care. You’re my, my best, my second best hockey player forever too.”

Shane decides he has to retire. Ilya, of course, will go with him.

Jisung walks over to Mark with a twisted smile on his lips. He cradles Mark's hand to force the green velvet box closed, just so the shine of the ring stops threatening to blind him. He wraps stiff arms around Mark's body, presses guilt-dirty hands to his back, and whispers an uglily forced, "Yeah, sure. Congrats, hyung," into his brother's sweaty hair.
Mark laughs his high-pitched giggle into the crook of Jisung's neck, back straightened up to throw his arms around his shoulders, feet bending at the tips because it is now Jisung the one who's always a bit too out of reach. Jisung would swallow mud a million times to get him laughing like this.

"I don't wanna try your stupid ice cream." He settles on saying instead, and Todoroki shrugs.
"It tastes good."
He doesn't know why he does it. Really. But when Todoroki scoots just a bit closer and brings the mint chocolate to him, he can't help but lean in. He tastes the soft, melting ice cream as Todoroki holds it steady for him, and when he pulls away, he catches eyes watching his lips.

There are some things Shouto finds highly unlikely to happen but he still wishes for. Hope dies last, he tells himself. Possibility number one: Endeavor invites a woman to the meeting that ‘turns him’ bi, two: he comes to his senses and cancels all Miai plans, three: Shouto can drag out the dates and meetings so long until he’s 18. It’d be a hassle, but still better than to spend his life with a woman he doesn’t love.
That there’s still a possibility number four is something Shouto hasn’t expected in the slightest.

“So… you haven’t checked social media or whatever yet?” Katsuki asks with a light sip to his still scalding hot coffee. The burn distracts him from his racing thoughts. Tetsutetsu shakes his head.
“No. I was still unpacking even up to this morning before I went to the gym.” Katsuki nods again, taking a larger gulp of coffee so that he wouldn’t have to speak for a bit longer. Tetsutetsu didn’t seem to mind filling up the silence, though. “Was gonna call Kiri to bring me up to speed after I did my reps but luckily I ran into you!”
Lucky for you, Katsuki thinks miserably while tracing the rim of his mug. “Yeah… you got lucky.”
It's a trip through memory lane when Tetsutetsu invites Katsuki to go get coffee after they bump into each other at the gym.
