Summary
For the first time in years, Hopper remembered a little boy with a pale face and a devilish grin. One who had probably run through these halls, telling his stories and hiding from a man who didn’t deserve to be called his father.
He was surprised when his heart ached. He hadn’t known Eddie. He’d moved only a month or two after they’d arrested Edward, and hadn’t seen the kid since that day in the woods. When he moved back, two people short, Eddie hadn’t made an appearance. He hadn’t caused any trouble, hadn’t gotten himself onto Hopper’s radar. He was weird, yeah, but a model kid. He didn’t deserve what happened to him. Not like Hopper did.
But now, here they were. The sinful man wandering free in the palace of the kid in Hell.
Hopper wondered if Eddie had remembered that day. Hopper hadn’t. Not until now.
