“You-!” Kaveh storms into the kitchen. “You are so insufferable and so- what on teyvat are you wearing?”
Al-Haitham pauses whatever he’s making on the counter, turns around and looks himself up and down. “An apron.”

Summary
No response. Kaveh’s face is still hidden from view, still buried underneath the mass of white fur around his neck and inaccessible to the world but Al-Haitham finds it quite alright. He can be patient for him no matter how long it takes. He keeps up trying to soothe him even as his knees start to ache, digging into the wooden floors and lets the silence permeate in the dark of their room. Eventually, Kaveh shifts, moving the wings covering his head just enough that they can meet each other’s eyes.

The white linen stains red red red and seeps into the greens blacks and golds of the fabric haphazardly ripped off your own back to staunch the life from spilling out.
You look at him, half-lidded eyes and paling skin, a sharp contrast to the sun-kissed tan and freckles scattered like constellations that should be there and for once in your life, you find yourself begging as you watch the steady drip of ichor pool into the sand beneath you and leave behind sinking craters of earthy brown.

Summary
Let it be known for the record that Al-Haitham does not like surprise parties. Or any kind of parties at all, for that matter. But does that stop his overly-enthusiastic group of friends (Because he has friends now. Multiple. More than he ever expected he would.) from throwing him one anyway? Absolutely not. You get acquainted with some people to overthrow a corrupt government just once and the next thing you know, you walk in on them decking your house with streamers, balloons and an obnoxiously large banner. It was fine when he was dealing with clients and he could convince himself that he was fine but, when he saw Cheng Xiaoshi happily texting someone he didn't know about, his emotions spiked and it seemed like his entire day was ruined. He didn't want to be like this but only an idiot would think that Cheng Xiaoshi wasn't seeing anyone
It was clear from the way he smiled at his phone and how he would quickly leave before Lu Guang could say anything. No, he wasn't jealous. Just annoyed that his friend was keeping this secret from him
