If anything he should be glad it’s over. He should be glad it’s not his problem anymore. But he's not. Because he keeps thinking about some of their first gigs, just the four of them. About nights in the van. About nights in the apartment. About their first real tour. He keeps thinking about when he got the call that they were signed. He had cried then too. It had felt so hopeful. He could make a career out of this, he could finally do what he had always wanted to do, with people he cared about, with guys he loved.
They still have several shows left on this tour and yet.. He already misses them more than he could say.
It hurts worse than losing just friends but he's too afraid to put words to it, even if it doesn't matter now anyway.

Not to say that his friend is annoying or anything, Patrick just doesn’t like that kind of stuff and that’s why he had tuned him out. That's also why he looks away when Pete and the nameless girl start kissing in the middle of the dancefloor, even if every fiber in his being is screaming jealous!
Patrick refuses to follow that train of thought and turns to Joe who’s nursing a cup of punch beside him, "Where's Andy?" He asks.
Joe hums and looks around before apparently spotting him, his eyes lighting up for just a second before he starts scowling. "Over there,” He points out, “On the bleachers. With a chick."
And sure as shit there's Andy, making out with some girl Patrick has never seen in his entire life. She's pretty and blonde and she isn't really dressed for homecoming but Andy's abandoned his comic for her anyway. A part of Patrick wonders what it would take to get him to put it down. Andy’s hands are in her hair and her hands are sliding up and down his back and-
Patrick clears his throat and looks away. "At least some of us got lucky," He mutters.

Patrick nods but it doesn't look like he believes him. So, naturally, Joe downs the rest of his beer, tilts his head back slightly and asks, "You wanna touch?"
"What?"
"You wanna touch ‘em? The scars? So you know I'm not lying."
"I don't think you're lying-"
Joe cuts him off, "-well you definitely don't believe me." Joe challenges. Patrick goes quiet again. Joe starts to scoot his way across the couch towards him, "C'mon man, it's all good. Water under the bridge." He says it because he wants it to be true, even though he isn’t entirely sure if it is yet or not.
"You don't mean that." Patrick admonishes.
"Of course I do," Joe shrugs, speaking before he can even begin to question it. He doesn’t have the words to explain it. He isn’t sure there’s enough words in the dictionary to describe it. So instead he settles on, "You're… you." And then he bares his neck to the beast again and waits.
Or, Joe and Patrick get over the whole murder thing by making out about it.
