That was good, he was keeping them engaged. “I love kids. They love me. Where’s yours, by the way?”

    Lan Xichen turned to Nie Mingjue, but Nie Mingjue just stared back, apparently fascinated by Wei Ying. Lan Xichen turned back to look at Wei Ying again.

    “We -. I wonder if -. Perhaps you can tell us a little about your - experience?” He smiled. “With - children.” He added.

    “You can see from my CV I don’t really have any.” Wei Ying gave them a huge smile.

    “My mama is Cangse Sanren and my baba is Wei Changze,” Wei Ying told him, and recognition registered in Nie Mingjue’s eyes.

    “Wei Ying,” Nie Mingjue said, sounding a bit regretful, “Your parents aren’t coming back.”


    Or, Nie Mingjue and Nie Huaisang run into Wei Ying while in Yiling and decide to bring him home. And it changes everything.

      This is the kind of story for people who like a good revenge story.
      NMJ finds out both his sworn brothers have betrayed him, and soon after finds WWX during the ambush by the Jins. So he basically saves/kidnaps WWX and takes him to the Unclean Realm.

      I really want to see how the author is gonna make this all work. But it's very good so far.

Lan Xichen has handled battle, hardship, loss, and war. He is sure that he, too, can handle keeping Wangji out of Wei Wuxian's robes for a matter of months.
