Data and Geordi constructs a baby. A half-human, half android baby, the first of its kind. Family bliss is not easily achieved though, with prejudices all around and space being a dangerous place for expecting androids. Especially when the android's twin gets tangled up in proceedings.
Chapters 6, 8, 11, 13, 15 don't deal w Data or baby directly - my brain made a slight detour.
Time-wise this takes place between the eps "Datalore" and "Brothers" , so Lore hasn't got the emotion chip installed = not completely off his rocker
The spaceships Scholl and Politkovskaya are named after Sophie Scholl and Anna Politkovskaya - two persons I think the Federation would/will honor with their own ships
