The man finally points at the two pins, “Would you mind if I ask about these? You don't have to tell me, but I know of most of the other ones, at least a bit.” Regulus swallows thickly, focusing on the pins that Fleamont is pointing at.
He doesn’t want to tell him.
Regulus has a bad association with telling adults about his gender identity and sexuality, the adults in his life always scolding him or yelling at him or punishing him for it.
But he knows that Fleamont won’t do that.

He takes long enough that the man starts to pull away, “You don’t have to tell me if it’s private or something you don’t want to talk about.”
“No, it’s fine.” Regulus corrects quickly, “They’re ah- this one is the trans pride pin and this one is the gay pride flag.”
...
Regulus is Fleamont Potter's teacher assistant, and panics when the man notices his pride pins. Despite that, he comes out to him, soon meeting a hot person because of it.

It was definitely a surprise when, six years later, Sirius Black died killing Tom Riddle, called Voldemort.

Cassiopeia Black always prided herself as being able to walk the paths of blood and dark magic without losing her mind to its thrall. So when she dabbles with the family magic that runs through all the members of the Black family veins she is surprised to find an addition to their line that she hadn't known about. She tracks the child down because if the Ancient and Noble House of Black needed an heir it was now more than ever. Cassiopeia would not let her House die out when there was a chance of saving it from extinction.
When she does find the boy she is surprised just how much the Black family magic had favored the boy. He is a very powerful necromancer as the first Lord Altair Black had been.
The surviving Blacks are back with a vengeance and they will take the wizarding world by storm once again.

Oh... this was devastatingly beautiful. We don’t really see much of Regulus in the movies, or even the books, and I find it quite sad that such a strong redemption journey was merely glossed over like that. So, seeing it here in action was great ;.; Sad, but beautiful so.
The Premise by the way, is that Draco receives letters from Regulus Black that help him on his own story of redemption — or freedom, more like. Stepping out of his father’s shadow and being himself, making his own choices. It’s a great story, and one that I definitely can recommend to those looking a little closer look at Draco’s psyche.
REREAD NOTES — still loved it!!! Definite favorite for sure.
