Absolutely the most painful sickfic I've ever read, combining Suzaku's self loathing with his deteriorating health and then topping it off with the newfound will to live found in the people closest to him. I love the characterization, C.C. being my favorite by how her relationship with Suzaku shines in their one-on-one interactions. All the characters, C.C., Lelouch, Kallen, and Nunally had moments that showed their love for Suzaku and I appreciate how well written all of them are for the arc of the story and how the mood of the story and characters dangerously relies on the shifts in Suzaku's health. The conversations were so heart breaking, the sentances with the fewest words being the ones that hit the most. Also just wonderful reflection on the gut wrenching pain of the Zero Requieum, and especially when Lelouch admits that his greatest enemies are his own words (a glaringly painful truth to behold thinking back to the entirety of Code Geass). The hurt to comfort ratio is skewed but the pain and suffering this inflicted on me makes this all the more beautiful. Couldn't reccomend this more.
