The final decade of the second millenium A.D. constitutes an apocryphal dead zone within the temporal archive of humanity. While adjacent eras enjoy robust representation across multiple Foundation-approved media and material vectors, the 1990s exist only as fragments: Corrupted, orphaned, and stripped of the connective tissue that should render a culture legible to posterity. The Storm did not merely reverse 1999, it annihilated its very context. What remains are color TVs without manuals, signals without protocols, a civilization reduced to its detritus.
The Nineties Cultural Research Unit (NCRU) is therefore constituted as a part-time non-profit response to this epistemic crisis. May the peace be with us.
