Light filled the room and Matt gulped, pain stabbing his eyes as he glanced up towards Hunk, standing a few feet away, rubbing at his left arm. Matt swallowed thickly, looking back down at the metal floor, feeling his arms and body trembling, his vision even more so. He felt sick. He could have seriously injured the teenager… or worse.
Sickfic requested on Tumblr that I FINALLY got around to doing. Matt, trying to remember how to be himself after being Zarkon's prisoner, gets sick, looses his touch with reality, and reveals what actually happened to him after Shiro's escape. A darker side of Matt. Angsty guy, guilt-ridden; and Shiro is a good dad. -

The Punisher slips from his grasp as Wolfwood doubled over, pressing a hand against his mouth as he takes a few shallow breaths. He shuts his eyes as the sand moves, clasping a hand against his knee as he lurches again, swallowing several times. He felt like shit. His head was killing him. His body, dizzy, uncomfortable, too warm. But there was no way he was puking in front of Blondie. No way he was puking right now.
The ground shakes again, and Wolfwood almost loses his balance as the dirt under him shifts. He opens his eyes, squinting against the bright light piercing behind his tented lenses. He lets out another shallow breath as his stomach settles and straightens his posture as the nausea passes. He shuddered, wiping the sweat painted against his face with his shoulder as he peered towards the right, where the movement had been. His eyes meet empty space, and he feels disoriented and unsteady. The desert heat rising in clear waves over the vast wasteland.
