Summary
John Winchester is a terrible, no-good, deadbeat drunk, hell-bent on killing anything that isn’t human. And Dean? He’s not human anymore. The only reason John hesitated was that neither he nor Dean knew what Dean had become—and the sick bastard wanted to study it. Locked in a cage for months, Dean finally gets his chance to escape when John got too drunk to remember to lock the cage after another round of ‘studying’. All Dean has is the clothes on his back and an old backpack stuffed with emergency supplies stolen from his father.
Now, alone in the world for the first time, Dean decides he wants a do-over—a real childhood, a loving family, a fresh start. And with the help of his witch friend Crowley, that dream might just be possible… if someone good comes along to adopt him.

Summary

He soon discovers that the hotel caters to a very different clientelle. Unfortunately for Sam and his masterful plan to keep him alive, Castiel wouldn't mind Dean Winchester, hater of all things human, getting a few bites.

Sam makes a startling discovery when he finds a hidden file in the Men of Letters bunker. Henry Winchester was never human. He was the product of an experiment to suppress the physical and psychological traits of a supernatural creature, essentially trapping it in a human shell and allowing it to pass as human. The problem? The magic weakens across generations. Dean does not take the news well. His whole life he'd been raised to be the perfect hunter. How can he accept that deep down he's always been something he would have hunted? Something not human? Wanting to make it better for his brother, Sam attempts to reinforce the spell, which only causes it to fail faster.
Set after season 15, episode 19 and disregards the final episode.
