ABANDONED
Paige Potter, the Girl-Who-Lived, is used to her life being weird though she hoped with the Dark Lord's defeat she could regain some level of normality.
Unfortunately, the universe still has it out for her.
One duel with Death Eaters and a curse later, she and her best friend Hermione find themselves in an alternate universe where the Girl-Who-Lived is now the Boy-Who-Lived and, oh, it just so happens to be October 31st, 1981.
(This work is now discontinued, due to waning interest, a summary of how the story was supposed to go is posted in the last chapter)
Unwilling to let what happened in their timeline happen here and determined to protect and raise the Boy-Who-Lived in a loving home Paige (along with an exasperated Hermione) must join forces with Sirius Black and Remus Lupin to not only raise Harry (and not kill each other in the process) but stop Voldemort from coming back.
It's a lot harder than it sounds, actually, especially when you add in irritating purebloods, nosey reporters and Paige's tendency to be a walking trouble magnet.

“Are you familiar with Time-Turners Miss Granger?” The question was the catalyst that sent Hermione back on a secret mission to stop Voldemort before October 31st, 1981. Her work with the original order was important, but clearly nobody relayed this to her partner. Young and not yet tainted by the pain of loss and Azkaban, Sirius Black was a lot harder to manage than Ron or Harry. When he wasn't making every situation the punchline to a long winded joke, he was making his salacious intentions well known.

Non-canon compliment fic based off of atyd, so it contains parallels to MKB89's fic as well as some original characters from that same work. Events from Harry's life still somewhat take place towards the end, but with a few adjustments and some major changes (as in people don't die) AKA THIS IS AN ALL THE YOUNG DUDES FIX IT FIC from october 1981 = everybody lives <3

The aftermath has Sirius and James reeling with the realization that he has been carrying out trips to various werewolf packs for Dumbledore, not running off to Voldemort's shadows, along with all the consequences following thereafter.
The path branches off the trodden road between the stars, and perhaps, this is the start of a kinder future for all of them.
