Summary
Selene keeps waiting for him to leave.
She knows he will. Since she first heard Michael speak about loss, she knows his heart is too soft to live this life. She almost hoped he would pull the trigger when she handed him the gun in that interrogation room, so that she wouldn’t need to watch such a soft heart twist and darken and go mindless with hate — because then, she’d need to put a bullet in him herself. She watched it happen before. She knew others that were brought into the life that went mad with vengeance — she knows better than anyone what that feels like.Selene reflects on what happened to lead her and Michael to where they are after they kill Marcus and William.
Canon for Underworld and Evolution, and diverges after the second movie.

Summary
To say Michael is having difficulty adjusting to this new life is a gross understatement. Blood positively sings to him. He barely resists its siren call, a thick, warm pulse in his ears that sends hunger gnawing in the pit of his stomach. He nearly bit that policeman near the safehouse, and only the shock of his reflection kept him from ripping that man apart and draining him dry.
Michael and Selene make their way from William’s prison back to Tanis’ monastery in order to gather his collection of books. Hopefully, they can convince anyone after them that the elders have lied and kept everyone in the dark for centuries. They just don’t expect to be asked to be part of the solution.
