Summary
“Is that so? Then I guess I’d better finish this up quickly. I missed it the last time you two played.” He picks up the crate again, letting out a small grunt of effort, and the sound makes Scara want to ball his fists for some reason, but he restrains himself. Then Sethos leans toward him, very narrowly avoiding the space Scara considered personal. “I’ll be rooting for you when I get back, Hat Guy.” He says it jokingly, but his voice drops lower as he nears him, almost lost to the chatter of the cafe, though Scara’s ears catch it easily and he pulls the brim of his hat down to try and escape showing the way it buzzes around in his mind pleasantly.
“Whatever.” He mutters lamely.
In which Scaramouche finds Sethos immensely attractive and he doesn't know what to do with himself, so he resorts to an unfailing(?) tactic: denial.

Summary
“Are we not also friends?” His brow is furrowed, and his mouth is shaped into a smile but it’s confused, like it wasn’t sure if it was supposed to be there but appeared as a default anyway. He stares at Scara, waiting for an answer, and Scara stares back, unable to give it. It seems to be the wrong choice again because after a moment, something in Sethos’ face falls, and the smile on his face becomes a little more forced, though it isn’t at all obvious. “Oh. I understand. Sorry, I guess I got a bit ahead of myself there, huh? Assuming we were friends like that.”
Scara doesn’t know how to tell him that Tighnari is different from him in the sense that Scara doesn’t think about the forest ranger at all in the same way he thinks about him. Scara doesn’t know how to tell him that there’s an ache, a want to be closer to him that isn’t present when he’s with Tighnari.
Scara doesn’t know how to speak, not around Sethos, so when Sethos turns away from him, still with that fake smile plastered on his face, Scara can do nothing to stop it.
In which Scara experiences what it's like to be in love. It's rather overwhelming for him.

Summary
He listens as Cyno tells him that Tighnari is firm about everyone else’s health except his own, that Tighnari never laughs at his jokes, but he can tell his friend appreciates the sentiment all the same, that Tighnari opens his arms to more people than he realizes, and will scold him about downplaying an issue while doing the same. He listens as Cyno tells him all the ways he’s in love with Tighnari, and as he’s talking, it becomes abundantly clear to Sethos that he isn’t aware of it. Cyno is telling him about the furrow in Tighnari’s brow that forms when he’s planning an expedition when it hits him.
It’s what he ignored when he first saw Tighnari and Cyno, what he pushed to the side in favor of mourning the loss of the last bit of family he was close with. It claws up his throat now, and inexplicably, he thinks that, for the first time in years, he might cry.
In which Sethos realizes there's a hole where his heart should be when his grandfather dies. He then finds that it can be filled once more, even if it's different.
