Summary
Sure, sometimes Henry wishes that he could have something spontaneously good. That by the time they actually reached the bed he wasn’t already exhausted by the steps taken to get to that point. But it’s fine. And it’s something that’s solely Henry’s, and that alone is enough to make it precious to him.
Consent and control. They’ve never failed him.
So it makes sense, actually, that his grandmother would be the one to take those things away from him.
Henry just hadn’t necessarily thought it’d be in this context.
