Luz stood in the doorway, King snuggled into her arms.

I didn’t do anything to them, they won’t even talk to me!” Her voice grew a little louder than before and she quickly pressed a hand over her mouth, not wanting to wake Eda and King, who were still sound asleep upstairs.

A sudden thought popped into their head. Eda was legally King’s mother. And they were raising him with her. Though Eda and Raine had yet to legally marry, if they ever would (at the moment, there was no reason for them to), they had talked a few times about Raine becoming King’s guardian.
