Summary
This is Berk. We’ve got dragons to the north, wildlings to the south, and weather all over the bloody place. Plenty of ways to make yourself look like a hero, but plenty more ways to make yourself look like a fool.
Hiccup’s only ever been any good at one of them.
This summer, he’s determined, he’s going to turn it around. Two steps: catch a wildling, one of the strange creatures, possibly not even human, that live in the Wildlands to the south; shoot down a dragon with the machine on which he’s been working for moons now.
Only even that doesn’t quite manage to go to plan. Because the wildling looks all-too-human, and the dragon all-too-familiar, and suddenly Hiccup is struggling to figure out what he wants at all, instead of just how to get it.

Summary
This is Berk. It took us three hundred years to find one island, and we still haven't figured out tact. Now we're trying to keep up with dragons, get to grips with magic, and work out what to do with those who can't handle change. You could say that we're trying to find our feet - and some of us have a disadvantage in that area as well.
After centuries of struggle, Hiccup has catapulted Berk into a whole new way of doing things - only now, he has to live up to it. Whether that means dealing with threats from outside the village, or from inside it, he suddenly finds himself having to step up in a way that he never could have expected.
There's a dragon sleeping in his room, and a woman with magical powers living in what used to be his workshop. From eking out an existence, he finds himself trying to carve out a life - for all of them. And with shadows of the past, near and far, reaching out, it turns out a harder path than he realised.

Summary
This is Arendelle. It's a little bit south of Berk, and a long way north of everywhere else. Different language, different culture, and a whole different set of secrets being kept.
Hiccup has been visiting Arendelle for treaty signings ever since he was a child, and it's not the new Queen that he's worried about this time around. He knows the language, he knows his way around the city, and he knows the Queen herself. The only new thing about Arendelle is what Berk now knows about its history, and he's determined to go in with his eyes open and his mind clear.
More than that, he's hoping that letting Elsa go back, even for a couple of days, might finally deal with some of her own demons, and see some of her fears subside. It's been years, from child to adult, and he wants her to see that Arendelle is not the place of nightmares that it might sometimes seem.

Summary
This is Berk. Other Vikings think we're weird, southerners think we're bizarre, and everyone tends to look at me in a funny way from time to time. I've been coming to appreciate just how much work it takes for my father to keep the peace - only now, it looks like we've got enemies cropping up in more places than ever.
A year since the discovery and fall of the Red Death, things have changed more than Berk could ever have imagined. There are dragons all over the village, a magic-using wildling living openly among them, and that's without people even knowing that the Queen of Arendelle is living in Hiccup's workshop, and not hiding in Arendelle Castle as the Silver Priests would have the world believe.
Returning to Dragon Island in the hope of settling some ghosts, what Hiccup wants is to clear his mind so that he can think of addressing the issue of Arendelle. Instead, he finds people that Berk thought were allies might be their enemies instead, and the world is only getting more dangerous around them.

Summary
This is Berk. We sing crude songs, shout simple battle cries, and our distinction between communication and violence is a little on the vague side. Only somehow we've ended up with three languages in my house alone. and real communication gets a whole lot more complicated than that.
As the Riders try to physically recover from the Berserker betrayal which almost cost them so much, Hiccup starts reaching out in search of allies in the battle which he fears is only going to get worse. At this time of year, the only way to reach other islands is going to be on dragonback, and perhaps it is time for Berk to start opening up some of its secrets to the rest of the world.
But Berk still needs chiefing, his family still needs him, and he realises almost too late that he can't look away from what is happening on Berk itself just because he needs to look to other islands as well.
