Comment on Releases 0.9.427 - 0.9.432: Change Log

  1. this is awesome!

i appreciate the hard work, especially for [AO3-3282].

for the next update, can you consider fixing whatever it is that makes tags change order if you go back to edit them? 🙏🙏

they're already aware of that problem but it's complicated to fix it, and the developers all do this for free, so their abilities are pretty limited

as an explanation/workaround - basically when you add tags, the database adds them in that order, and when you add new tags, it will always just add them after the existing ones, even if you tried to change the order. but you can delete all tags whose order you don't like and the ones after them, save the work, then re-add the tags

      Hello,

Changing the way AO3 tags are set up would take a significant overhaul of how the tagging system works, so it's not something we're planning to implement right at this moment.
We recommend taking a look at this unofficial browser script: AO3: Reorder Tags with Drag & Drop which helps give you a bit more control over your tag order. If you're not familiar with browser scripts, check out our Unofficial Browser Tools FAQ.

      We apologize for the inconvenience!

I wanted to check out the Unofficial Browser Tools FAQ, but the link you provided leads to an "Error 404" page...

          Hello,

My apologies! Here is the correct link: Unofficial Browser Tools FAQ.

You can also find it where you find all our FAQs by hovering over "About" in the menu above and then selecting "FAQ" from the dropdown. That will take you to a list of all our FAQs!

          Hope this helps!
