a woman who had been hunched over mere moments ago, whom he had just passed in walking, sprung to her full height. she lost a scarf and somehow managed to age back a lifetime, posture straightening, and giving him a look.
then she pulled out a gun and started moving towards the apartment complex he was walking past with the groceries, dragging him with her.
OR i watched an episode of criminal minds (s5e09) again and i find it so fucking funny how everyone - i mean EVERYONE on the street in like a 2 block radius of this ONE BUILDING was an undercover swat person. LITERALLY EVERYONE. THE STREETS WERE EMPTY.

This city was not for the faint of heart.
It was a miracle town for most. For others, it was a death trap. And for some it was just simply there, existing somewhere beyond the forest, not to be seen unless you were guided, and not to be visited unless you were one of their own.
Tommy… had a photography assignment.
He’d be honest, though, the pieces had kind of fallen into his lap. Tubbo had said he was going on a trip, just a short one, and then he had talked about the Miracle City. Where werewolves interacted with vampires, and fae lived with sirens. Phantoms could crawl the streets and witches wouldn’t give them a second glance.
It was beautiful, with skyscrapers and twinkling lights that hung between alleys. They functioned as people without the people part of it.
Tubbo had gone to the Miracle City, and Tommy knew he had to see it.
The one problem was, of course, that he was a normal fucking human being.or
Tommy decides to go "fuck it" and live with monsters. He has to pretend to be one, of course, and if he's found out, he will be killed. No doubt about that.

Tommy has been held captive by aliens for god knows how long, when one day they drop an alien in his cell with the expectation he'll kill it. But little do they know that humans aren't actually bloodthirsty beasts. Instead, a terrified Wilbur realizes he's been dropped in a cell with a teenager far from home and in over his head. Tommy makes it his mission to get him and Wilbur out, and Wilbur makes it his mission to convince his family that humans aren't anything to be feared, and somehow along the way Tommy finds family in a birdman, a giant pig dude, and a shark looking man.

Humans are space orcs, considered the most dangerous creatures in the galaxy; no one has seen one and lived to tell the tale. Dream gets his hands on one to use as a weapon, but it fails horribly and Tommy is snatched by sbi. But not before scaring the shit out of every alien he meets and biting off a finger... or two.... “Hello there,” a melodic voice rang from behind him.
Phil whipped around, coming face to face with an angelic being, too perfect to be human. The first sign of a fae was the pointed ears. The second was a beauty that couldn’t be compared to humans. The man in front of him fit that description with pointed ears peeking out from his brown hair. His cheekbones and jawline were at the perfect angle and his complexion immaculate. He had honey-brown eyes to match his hair, his bangs fell over an eye as the fae cocked his head. He watched Phil like a predator would watch prey.
“What’s an old man like you doing here?” the fae asked, voice thicker than the honey hidden in his eyes.
Phil didn’t let the fear grip his heart, “Funny that you of all people would call me old.”
A smile spread over the fae’s face, “Touché.” The brunet took a gentle step to the side, continuing to do so as if he was circling Phil like a vulture. Finally he made his way to the fae rings, sitting down on the soft moss of one.
“What brings you here, human?” he said, crossing his legs and placing his chin in his hands.

"It must be a portable portal! With a limit of three people!"
"A portkey?" Harry found himself asking before he could stop himself. Maybe these weren't order members after all, Grimauld Place was old, maybe a portkey to it had been lost years ago?
"That's a good name for it." Tubbo agreed before abruptly pouncing on his smaller companion. "Come on Michael, give the book back to Daddy."
"Please don't call yourself Daddy." The Tall Man grimaced, eyes darting around the room, taking in everybody without ever looking anyone in the eye. Interestingly his gaze skipped right over Harry's scar, focusing instead on the floating spider. "Prime that spider is tiny!"
"Right, you're more of the Sugar Daddy in this relationship." Tubbo agreed, lifting his hair off his eyes (eye? One was dead looking and unfocused) to take a look at the dead spider. "Fuck! It is!"
