Elton John feels tethered and lost until John Reid drops by the studio in London to surprise him. Reid later introduces the musician to his business in London, the band Queen. Elton and the band’s lead singer, Freddie Mercury, immediately hit it off as friends, but as time goes on, they both wither away in loneliness by drowning themselves in drugs and partying. One wants it all to end, and the other asks why it even started at all.
