When the Nemesis went down and the impact tore his vocalizer from him, Starscream was forced to adapt.
What he discovered unsettled even him: silence made him lethal.
Yet the silence left room for thought, and thought led to reflection. He began to see the patterns in the trials he was thrown into—the impossible missions, the deliberate risks.
As his dynamic with Megatron grew increasingly volatile, Starscream started to consider something once unthinkable: perhaps the Decepticons were not his destiny, but his cage. The idea of breaking free became less treason… and more survival.

Summary
After another assassination attempt on Megatron fails, Starscream expects his usual yelling and subsequent beating, so the sword in his chest is new. In an odd turn of events, he finds himself offered a choice: move on into the after life or finish what he started. Awaking to the inside of the Ark’s medbay, Starscream must now learn to cooperate with his new allies or return to face the wolves who would have his hide if they found him alive.

Summary
Starscream vows to use this new Megatron's weakness to his advantage. If the so called leader of the Decepticons wants to try and manipulate him, by doing strange things like not showing anger and actually praising him, than Starscream is more than happy to let him think he's succeeding, especially since Starscream isn't affected in the slightest, obviously.

“Well, you see, my lord; what would you say is the driving force of your magnificent cause? The thing that keeps a Decepticon’s spark warm even in the coldest of nights?”
Megatron lets out a cackle, the answer so simple, it comes forth without command. “Hatred! For the Autobots!”
A nano-klik passes.
“And for complete control of Cybertron and the great wide galaxy! Everybody knows that!” Megatron continues.
Shockwave nods in approval. “Of course. However, from what you have described, it appears that that very source of hatred is no longer sufficient in keeping the armies satisfactorily rallied. It’s deathly unfortunate, but not every mech can be as noble and focused as you, my lord. After all these millennia, something new must be introduced to keep them on their pedes. And that’s where my latest invention comes into play.” Gesturing to the weapon held in Megatron’s grasp, Shockwave announces his achievement with a flourish.
“Introducing, the Love-botimiser 9000!”
