Midoriya hesitates. Then, slowly steps out from behind Aizawa.
The light in the room catches him fully now, illuminating what they couldn’t see before.
With his shorts cut off just above the knees, the metal on his left leg gleams.Someone gasps.
Bakugo’s face crumples like a paper shell caught in the rain.
Midoriya notices. Of course he does.He gestures lamely toward the prosthetic and offers a crooked smile. “You wouldn’t believe it,” he says, voice shaking. “But a zombie chewed it up.”
No one laughs. Instead, there is an unmistakable sob. Uraraka, probably, her hands are pressed over her face, shoulders trembling.

Straightening up, ignoring the tenseness in his joints and the urge to just lie down and not do anything for a very, very long time, Tango rubbed the bridge of his nose. Swung his legs over and pushed himself up with the table for stability. And of course, that meant his knees and ankles and hips, which had previously been irritable but not little firecrackers of pain shooting off like some festival display, decided to make themselves known. It wasn’t a staggering, send-someone-to-the-floor type of pain. But it definitely hurt.
Inhaling through his nose, then exhaling through his mouth, Tango made his way over to the sink.
