Work Text:
Cleaner HQ had been relatively calm today, no calls yet, and none expected anytime soon; Semiu was most often right about that. With days like this being such a rarity, most cleaners had gone off-base, or were taking the time to relax, which she was doing as well; though remaining at her post in the entrance, because after all she was still on the clock.
Footsteps could be heard approaching, and she knew who they belonged to almost too easily, loud stomping with equally loud grumbling. Not bothering to look up, Semiu rather turned her chair slightly in the opposite direction. Reclining while enjoying her magazine, wishing she had asked Tamsy to get her the latest issue when he went out.
A slamming was heard on her desk, registering it as a large hand, though not giving the outburst any attention; instead just flipping to another page of her magazine unbothered, fixing her glasses so they sat correctly on her nose.
“Enjin.” she greeted, flitting her eyes up at him for a moment; his whole appearance a good reminder to never have kids: his hair clearly in need of a wash, while his eyebags had bags of their own, everything about him reading as he could fall over at any minute. Not bothering to look longer, instead switching back to the images in her magazine which were far more appealing to look at–though honestly anything could be compared to the blond’s current presence.
Her ignoring did not last long however, when he started to breathe uncomfortably deep through his nose, she huffed and surrendered her attention to him. Closing and flicking what she was reading onto her desk.
“You’re looking for Gris?” her words posed as a question, when really it was more a statement. Watching as Enjin finally stood up straight, running a hand down his face followed by another groan, proving she had been right.
“God yes, he has not been answering his collar.” Enjin complained, pulling on the skin below his eye lids, simultaneously rolling his eyes back. The kids had been driving him crazy–well minus Zanka but that was to be expected–Team child was out on the town, if he remembered because they were taking a trip to visit Remlin, so the only other adult he could think to seek help from was Gris, and this one time he needed his supporter, poof! No where to be found.
Semiu looked at him, judgingly. And he looked back at her, knowing she more than likely knew where Gris was, how this was going to play out was really all about her mood at this point. So he decided to shoot her a big smile, though that didn’t seem to help him much.
“You know you should stop taking in random kids, you had enough as is when you found Rudo. Then came Amo and Fu…” she left her hand hanging off to the side, flicking it as she spoke. Enjin's smile dropped automatically back into a frown, which at the moment was only growing.
“For starters. I did not take Amo in, would actually never do that.” he emphasised, gesturing with his hands to help add to his point. “Only helped find her because of Rudo, she is actually a part of your team. And Fu is on trial, so he “technically” is on no one’s team.” Adding that last part, as if Fu wasn’t going to join his team once being officially approved, surprised the boy hadn’t followed him out here yet seeking some kind of order; thinking maybe that should call for some sort of celebration for his improvement. Semiu just rolled her eyes.
“Whatever floats your boat.” practically reading his thoughts and just shrugging. Trying to shoo him off by feigning work, opening a drawer of her desk to pull out a decently large stack of papers. Slamming it loudly, kinda hoping that enough would make Enjin go away.
“So where is Gris?” Enjin asked again, Semiu thought about not giving him any answer for a second, though after further thought telling him seemed to have amusing possibilities.
“He just came back from running some kind of errand, so I assume in his room.” she stated, straightening out her pile of papers so they sat tall right in front of her.
“Thanks girl.” he said, waving her off, storming down the hall towards Gris’s room. Semiu lazily waved back, re-opening her magazine, but this time behind the stack of papers. Hoping if she looked busy less people would be willing to disturb her.

“Hey? Gris?” Enjin banged his hand against the other man’s door, not hearing any kind of response back. Starring daggers in Semui’s direction, betting she had sent him here knowing that Gris wouldn’t be here at all.
He hit the door again, grumbling to himself about never letting her get her hands on a dirty magazine again. When suddenly the door was pulled open, Enjin shot back in surprise.
There Gris was, all of him. Enjin choked a little, he had clearly been mid way getting dressed when he answered the door, only adorning sweatpants, while a towel still sat around his neck, hair slightly darker simply since it was wet. Enjin felt his own mouth get wet.
“Uhm, Enjin? You needed something?” Gris asked, fisting his towel to bring it into his hair, Enjin stunned into silence as he watched a single water droplet drip from his hair and travel down his chest, gulping as it seeped into Gris’s waistband.
“Oh, yeah!” Enjin finally came back, swallowing the saliva that had gathered in his mouth. Steering his eyes up to look strictly at the other man’s face, not enjoying the grin he was met with. Steering his head to the side before talking again,
“You weren’t answering your collar at all, and Fu was kinda hoping to talk to you.” he spoke, swatting his hand around to maybe divert the eyes from his own reddened face, “something about his purpose of whatever, you know how that kid is…” kinda just talking to talk now. “...though he didn’t follow me out here, so maybe there has been some improvement?”
“Uh huh, is that all?” Gris wondered, Enjin turning to face him, instantly wishing he didn’t with the smile he was met with.
“And I was kinda hoping for some help with the kids.” he defeatedly added, listening as the other laughed at him, though knowing he would help anyways.
“How about you shower, I can tell you need one.” Gris mentioned making Enijn want to smell himself, though choosing against it, instead nodding in acceptance.
“I’ll watch them while you do, I ran to town to get some sweets for them all, Rudo wasn’t all that happy when he found out Fu never tried candy before.” Pointing towards a bag that sat on his desk. Enjin weakly nodded again, already starting to stalk off towards his room, though that was a hell of a walk away from the supporter’s boarding.
“Enjin– Just shower here, use whatever soaps you want, and I still have some of your clothes in my dresser.” He just turned around and walked right past Gris as he entered the other’s room, taking in the familiarity of it.
“You know I missed you.” he heard Gris’s voice, as the taller man snaked arms around him. Pausing his venture to the bathroom, almost wanting to melt into that chest that was pressed against his back.
“Hey! Get off me, you’re all clean!” Yelling with energy he didn’t even know he had, though not enough for him to fight out of the other’s grasp.
“I don’t mind showering again.” he grumbled, though Enjin wasn’t having any of it, driving an elbow into Gris’s gut, and feeling himself be released, listening as Gris recovered with a few coughs mixed with laughs–that punch probably did nothing.
“You are going to watch the kids. I am going to take a long, warm, steamy shower. By myself.” pausing between each word as he spoke, getting distance from the other, “Now if I were you I would get going, make sure Riyo hasn’t ordered Fu to let her cut all his hair off or something.” hoping that situation he had just thought of was only in his imagination.
“Okay, okay.” Gris surrenders all attempts to try and stay, pulling a shirt on and grabbing his bag of sweets. “Though, will you be here tonight?” he asked before leaving, hand already on the doorknob, Enjin stopped to smile.
“Yeah, sure.” he swatted, his mind more focused on being clean, then what he was agreeing to. “Now shoo, go watch my kids!”
