Chapter 1: The Journey To Find God(s)

Chapter Text

Wemmbu believed that being the strongest was easy. He was already considered the strongest in his village, albeit it consisted of just him and Eggchan. He believed he could take on anyone!

Most of Wemmbu’s time was spent trying to make his Orbital Strike Cannon. Egg didn’t think it would even work, not having much knowledge on the things anyway, but Wemmbu was sure he’d be the first to succeed.

His only goal in life was to figure out how to beat the Gods that everyone on the server worshipped. He saw them as another challenge. The God of Puzzles, Parrot. Known for his ability to create and solve any puzzle that normal mortals would never even be able to comprehend. The God of Exploits— Spoke. He could duplicate any item he desired. And his favourite, The God of Strength, FlameFrags. He could control the levels of his strength if he desired to do so.

Currently, though, Wemmbu was bored. Bored enough to sit by Eggchan as he read some book on the history of some long-gone civilisation called Square City. It was a kingdom with the kings known as Cash and Nico. Wemmbu truly did not pay much attention to what Egg was saying; he was tired and in need of an adventure.

“So...Wem, did you understand the history of the downfall of Square City through the Invis Mafia? I think it’s important you understand if you really want to get closer to finding these Gods.” Egg said, closing the book and setting it away in his inventory.

“Kinda...I mean, I don’t know. I heard what you said, but I just don’t understand how this will help me.” Wemmbu said, a groan slipping past his lips. “I mean, c’mon, Egg! You know me, you know I want to explore out there instead of sitting inside a village that’s basically just us.” He reiterated for the nth time to Egg.

“Yeah.. you're right.” Egg chuckled, used to his best friend's antics. Eggchan really, really cared about Wemmbu, but he just didn’t understand why he was so hellbent on putting his life on the line for the sole title of being “the strongest”.

“Bro, will you leave this village with me to hunt the Gods?” Wemmbu started. “We just have to go somewhere... pretend it’s a trip. I know you don’t like the idea of us leaving here since spawn is so crowded, but you...” Wemmbu lost track of his words when he saw Egg had a small, amused smile on his face.

“Bro...you’re my best bud, of course I’ll come with you. I mean, if you promise to protect me, I don’t have armour, dude.” Egg reluctantly said.

“Oh hell yeah, bro. We can leave tomorrow, yeah?” Wemmbu grinned.

Egg hummed, tugging Wemmbu to his room. That’s when the purple guy noticed it had already been way past sunset.

“Night, Egg.”

“G’night, bro.”

They both fell asleep in their beds. Well...Egg did immediately, at least. Wemmbu was buzzing in excitement. It took him about an hour of tossing and turning to finally fall asleep.

The morning came fast.

The sun’s rays shone inside their house, and by the time Egg woke up, he found Wemmbu already packing his bags.

“You are way too eager to leave our house of years, dude. I still have to kiss the beautiful walls goodbye.” Egg said, walking out. The wings that stuck out of the back of his head seemed messier.

“What the fuck, bro?” Wemmbu burst out laughing.

They bickered for some time over who gets to keep the shulker boxes. Eventually, they decided to split up the boxes evenly. So they began their journey, leaving immediately, not wanting to be stranded outside during nighttime.

They ventured from biome to biome. Passing by Dripstone Caves, Cherry Blossoms, and even the remains of PrinceZam’s empire before finally reaching spawn. They had to be careful here; Spawn was not an easy place to pass by without drawing attention from other players. They decided now was the best time to drop some invis potions onto themselves and move, as it was getting closer to nighttime, and it would be easier to go to the Temple of Parrot.

They sneaked past some players fighting and trying to kill each other, and slowly tried to make their way past Spawn. Well, at least they tried to. Egg kept losing track of where Wemmbu was. He kept getting distracted.

“Egg? Egg, where are you, bro?” Wemmbu whispered, walking around. “Oh, hey, bro, I’m here,” Egg yelled, seemingly unaware of a player right beside them. The player named PotatoesAreCool67 turned to face Egg, or at least Egg’s voice.

“Oh, hey buddy!...you didn’t see anything,” Wemmbu said before yelling. “Well...now we have to run since people probably know there's suspicious invis players at spawn now,” Wemmbu said, dragging Egg along to make it past Spawn without getting caught. They ran and ran until they ended up in a lonely forest.

“I think we lost them, bro,” Egg said, his invisibility wearing off. So did Wemmbu’s a few seconds after. “What is this forest?” Egg continued.

The forest seemed to be massive, with massive trees and a pathway seemingly leading them even deeper inside.

“I feel like someone could live here,” Wemmbu said. His voice steered with determination. “It’s nighttime anyway, maybe we can find somewhere to rest. And clues on where the closest ParrotX2 Temple would be. C’mon, Egg!” Wemmbu said, crouching and moving to the corner of the path where hopefully nobody would be able to immediately spot them if there really was someone living in these forests.

After a while of walking, they came across a small cottage. One that seemed abandoned for most of it. They decided that if it was actually abandoned, why not sleep there? I mean, nothing bad could happen, right?

They settled in. A good night's sleep awaited them.

“Egg, bro, stop trying to cuddle me!”

“My bad, bro.”

When they woke up, it didn’t seem like the best place to sleep. The moment they woke up, they saw PrinceZam? And his right-hand man, Pangi? What the fuck, where are they?

“Look what the cat dragged in.” PrinceZam exclaimed. Clasping his hands in excitement. “I didn’t think I’d see you here, Wemmbu.” He continued.

“How do you know me, bro?” Wemmbu immediately got up. Shaking Egg awake, only to find that Egg wasn’t beside him but was instead sitting on a chair nearby.

“Yo.” Egg said, seemingly digging into some raw fish. “What the fuck, Egg?” Wemmbu said. Walking upto him.

“Do you really not remember me?” Zam said, breaking Wemmbu out of his concern for Egg. Zam almost sounded...sad? “I’ve never met you, PrinceZam.”

“Well then. What are you doing here?” Zam uttered, motioning Pangi to stay back.

“We are trying to look for a guy called ManePear? Do you know him?” Egg said.

“EGG! Don’t just tell people our plans!” Wemmbu retorted, hitting Egg on his arm.

“ManePear? Hasn’t he retired? Why are you looking for him?” Pangi said.

“He’s...still the strongest pvp-er y’know? We have some business.” Wemmbu said.

“Well...I can help. On one condition. That you never come back here again.” Zam said. His voice was suddenly cold.

“Uh...sure, bro,” Wemmbu said, since he didn’t really care enough about Zam to say no.

“He’s just further down this forest. Get out now.” Zam finished.

“Cool. C’mon, Egg.” They took their bags and began leaving.

“Bro...Wem, what do you think Zam was upto? It sounded like he knew you?” Egg started speaking as they left the cottage.

“Yeah, bro, I don’t know. I don’t care. We know where Mane is now.” Wemmbu said.

“Shouldn’t we arrange for getting your weapon before we actually try to find the strongest player?” Egg said. “And also, how do we know Zam didn’t lie to us? He seemed eager to get rid of us. Maybe he doesn’t really know Mane’s location.” He continued.

“Yeah, you’re right, bro. It’s fine, we have a lot of time, no rush. Do you really wanna go to a Trial Chamber like this?” Wemmbu laughed.

“I mean, yeah. You should really get a weapon first.”

“Where, even, would a Trial Chamber be?”

“I know where the nearest one is.”

“HOW BRUH?!”

“I just do. Now follow me, bro.”
