Summary
After the storm, Max was alone. All the relationships and time she’d spent with Chloe, her parents, her classmates were gone. She carried a lifetime of memories no one else shared, and the only person she trusted with them was dead.
When Max stayed in class, Chloe’s body had instead been found in the junkyard that evening, with Jefferson accused and convicted.
