Summary
After Shannon’s death, Eddie Diaz leaves Texas behind and transfers to the LAFD, hoping distance will quiet the guilt he can’t outrun. Los Angeles offers a chance to start over—to live louder, love harder, and be something other than the man defined by loss, to be someone new—but Eddie is terrified of what wanting more might cost him.
But when he's caught up in the comforting blue eyes of a kind stranger with an even kinder smile, Eddie struggles with the idea of what he is and isn't allowed to want, and whether or not he's bold enough to finally go for it.
