Chapter Text
Destruction surrounded Mt. Fuji, the mountain forced to take the brunt of the battle between Midoriya Izuku and Shigaraki Tomura.
The city nearby had completely collapsed, ruined with fallen buildings with the stench of freshly dead bodies, caught in the war between heroes and villains. One side was filled with the need to save and bring back the peace-filled status-quo. The other side was filled with contempt and hate for the current system, either desiring destruction or a new society.
Despite Izuku's wants to save Shigaraki, he knows that the safety of the remaining people in the area was top priority.
His short conversation with the seventh holder, Nana Shimura, had made him decide on this. He tried to do it once before but with Japan, perhaps the entire world on the line, he can't let All for One and Shigaraki plunder the world into chaos. He doesn't want them to form an empire made from the death of hero society, filled with pure calamity.
She was right. He had to give it up. The man, no, the monster in front of him wouldn't budge even if he shoved his hero philosophy in his face.
Luckily for him, so far he has been holding back, taking the hits from his nemesis to the point where his body couldn't work without Black Whip keeping it together. Izuku knows he's stronger than Shigaraki, he knows that Shigaraki probably knows that too but doesn't think that he will actually kill him.
He'll use that to his advantage.
He knows what to do.
"You don't look very heroic now." Shigaraki smirked whilst looking at the whips both hidden under his opponent's skin and the few whips raging outside of him.
Izuku wasn't bothered to reply, in fact he could barely hear him through the ringing in his ears and the blistering pain coursing through his body. Instead, he launched himself up into the sky using Float and Black Whip, getting to the same level as Shigaraki high in the sky.
"I'll have to blitz Shigaraki with my final Gearshift, it may kill me.. but I have no choice." Izuku said, knowing that the past users can hear him.
'You can't do that.' Second replied. 'Do you want to die?'
"I have to, otherwise Shigaraki will continue his destruction and eventually beat me. You heard my and Seventh's conversation. The only two choices is I kill him or he kills me." Izuku muttered, knowing that his end may arrive in the aftermath of the battle.
'You can use Fa Jin instead, you still have some of it stored. If you launch a 100% kick fueled by Fa Jin, that may do the trick.' Third said, also not wanting Izuku to use Gearshift.
"I plan to use Fa Jin too, don't worry, I plan to only use second gear. I doubt I'll actually die from it but I'll probably feel the recoil a lot." Izuku reassured.
Second sighed. 'If you plan to use both Gearshift and Fa Jin, you better make this final hit count.'
"It will." Izuku replied.
The conversation at hand was cut off by Shigaraki flying at Izuku.
He dodged and threw a 45% punch, launching the villain away. He blitzed Shigaraki with a newfound speed that he had never seen from him before.
'What the hell?!' Shigaraki thought before getting barraged with kicks and punches, nearly making him see stars. 'He's way faster than before, is he no longer holding back?"
Izuku didn't let up, he wanted this to be over quickly. He didn't want to drag this fight out before Shigaraki got his bearings and counterattacked.
Knowing that a few kicks and punches wouldn't end him, he let out a massive cloud of smoke and jumped off the air, turning around and jumping off the air again. It could be compared to Gran Torino's way of combat but instead of propelling himself off walls, floors and ceilings, he propelled off pure air with the help of Float.
Every jump ended with a punch or kick that slammed against every part of Shigaraki's body, making him unable to figure out what to do.
To the naked eye, it almost looked like he was getting hit omnidirectionally as Izuku moved faster than the eye could see.
After countless hits, Izuku launched himself up and looked down at Shigaraki. He breathed in and prepared to last the last few killing blows.
"45% MANCHESTER SMASH!" Izuku yelled as he propelled himself downwards and slammed his heel against the villain's skull, sending him crashing down into the ground dazed.
With the help of gravity, he too came down with him and punched him in the stomach, forcing him further into the Earth. Before Shigaraki could decay himself out of the situation, Izuku grabbed his wrist and pulled him out and started to spin.
Shigaraki was starting to get scared. 'Is he going to kill me? I can't use my regeneration anymore, he's hitting me too fast that it can't keep up!' However, he couldn't do anything about it as he didn't even know which way was up or down at the moment.
Satisfied with the speed that he was spinning at, Izuku swings his nemesis into the air. He sighed, knowing that this was the end of Shigaraki Tomura.
"Goodbye, Shimura Tenko." Izuku internally prayed to himself before jumping into the air using Gearshift and Fa Jin, he caught up to Shigaraki within milliseconds and slammed his foot deep into Shigaraki's stomach with a powerful roundhouse kick.
"100% ST. LOUIS SMASH!" Izuku screamed as he pushed through the pain coursing through his leg, thankfully not pulverised due to his improved control over One for All compared to the past but still broken.
"NO! IF I'M GOING DOWN, YOU'RE GOING DOWN WITH ME!" Shigaraki yelled in desperation as he slammed his hand onto Izuku's face.
Izuku's stomach dropped. Was he about to turn into dust?
"EXILE!" Shigaraki said before Izuku's world went white, with the last thing he saw being Shigaraki's body being launched to the ground due to his kick.
Shigaraki was both satisfied and scared. Whilst he knew that Deku was gone forever, he knew that he would soon die too. It was only a matter of minutes.
What would be coming for him after death?
Would it be pure nothingness or was there an afterlife?
Well, if there was an afterlife, he knew that he would probably be going to hell.
Alas, at least he has effected this world forever. Hopefully people just like him would be saved as a child and not become whatever he has become now.
Does he regret what he has done though? No. Someone had to do it, he was just the one that carried the burden of it.
He's pretty sure that his master is dead and since he's going to die, eventually everyone else on his side will be taken in. He just wishes that he could've given Spinner some last words before he's gone.
Oh well, his eyes are starting to close now.
"Goodbye, beautiful Earth." Shigaraki muttered, continuing to stare up at the beauty that was the night sky.
Eventually, he was gone too. Unlike Shigaraki, gone from the world, Izuku was gone from the universe.
White was all he could see.
Pain was all he could feel.
The ringing in his ears was all he could hear.
He couldn't smell anything.
Worst of all, he couldn't feel anything.
It felt like he was falling forever, he didn't know how long it lasted. Maybe seconds, minutes or perhaps hours.
However, it wasn't a purgatory as he had feared when coming to this strange realm as he saw a small hole becoming larger and larger as he got closer.
Strangely, it looked like an alleyway as he got closer.
Wait, an alleyway?
Izuku instantly figured out that if he doesn't save himself, he'll splat against the ground and become a red mess.
Leaving the realm that he was in, he used Blackwhip to anchor himself on the walls of the alleyway before landing on the ground. He then fell onto the floor as he remembered that his leg was broken.
"God, that hurts." Izuku muttered as he glanced at the sky from where he came from. "What the hell? Where did I come from? I swear I came out of a hole."
He had no idea what was happening. One second his vision goes white, next second he's out of a hole of white and lands in an alleyway, and now it's gone?
'What should I do? More importantly, where am I?' Izuku thought as he used Blackwhip to get himself onto a rooftop.
He looked around and it seemed to look like he was in Tokyo. No longer was he at Mt. Fuji, fighting against a calamity. No, he was in a normal looking Tokyo, not ruined from the war crimes of the League of Villains. He could tell it was Japan because the kanji written everywhere on billboards and signs and could tell it was Tokyo because he was able to see the Tokyo Skytree in the distance.
'What the hell? W-What's going on?' Izuku thought, almost scared of what's going on. 'Wait, Shigaraki said 'Exile' before sending me here. Why was I exiled to Tokyo?'
'NINTH! ARE YOU THERE?' Seventh yelled.
"Yeah, I'm here. Do you know what's going on?" Izuku asked, relieved that nothing happened to the past holders.
'No, we don't know. I have no idea how Tokyo looks this normal, it looks like people don't know anything about the war going on in Japan.' Second replied. 'More importantly, your leg is broken and you're still feeling the effects of Gearshift. We should find you a hospital.'
"This doesn't make sense.. Tokyo was supposed to be effected by the war, why does it look so normal?!" Izuku asked, almost hyperventilating, hoping that the previous holders may have the answer.
'We don't know either but calm yourself, Ninth. We'll figure it out eventually.' Seventh replied.
'Hold on.' Third said with a serious tone. 'I feel something within us. Do any of you feel it? Do you feel it too, Ninth?'
All the other holders agreed with him except Izuku.
"I don't.." Izuku muttered, confused about what Third meant.
'Yeah, I can feel it too. It feels almost malevolent, it's not a person or anything. It feels more like an energy but locked away.' Fifth replied.
'Possibly it's a consequence of that strange quirk that Shigaraki used? Perhaps it left an imprint on One for All?' Fourth asked.
'No, it's outside of One for All. It feels almost like it's own thing. However, we should ignore it for now. Our main priority is getting Ninth to a hospital and afterwards we can figure out what's going on.' First ended the conversation, wanting it to be for later once Izuku recovers.
"Then how am I supposed to get to a hospital? My leg is broken.." Izuku muttered, trying to ignore the pain in his leg as much as he can.
'Do you still have your phone?' Second asked.
Izuku guessed that his phone was probably ruined. However, after pulling it out. It seemed to be fine if you were to ignore the screen being cracked. It looks like he would need to get a new phone once he recovers.
"Good, now call the ambulance and rest. They'll come get you and bring you to a hospital." Second added, concerned for his health.
"Okay." Izuku said simply before dialing the number for emergency services. It took a few rings before the other line picked up.
"Hello, what's your emergency?"
"I'm hurt, please help." Izuku replied before hanging up and making his way off the rooftop and back into the alleyway, using Blackwhip and Float to make sure he doesn't fall. Leaning against a wall sitting down, his body completely shuts down, finished for the day.
His eyes closed, not prepared for the days coming ahead but no longer scared of them.
Eventually, he woke up. His vision was blurry but he could make out a white ceiling with lights blaring down at his retinas. Or, well, retina, as the right side of his face was covered in bandages. He was glad that the ambulance services found him. He looks to his left and right and doesn't see anything like gifts with pieces of paper saying 'Get well soon!'.
Huh.
He hopes that his classmates were okay, perhaps they were too exhausted to come to the hospital especially since he's all the way in Tokyo.
Izuku called out to the past holders. "Hello? Anybody there?"
'We're here kid.' Fifth answered, manifesting next to the bed followed by a few more holders. 'You've been out for a few days.'
"Did Recovery Girl come to heal me?" Izuku asked.
'Strangely, no. Yer leg is still broken and yer body is still fucked-' Fifth was cut off by Seventh karate chopping his head.
'Don't swear.' Seventh warned.
'Y-Yes, ma'am.' Fifth replied, scurrying next to Sixth. 'PLEASE SAVE ME!'
'No.' Sixth said.
'NOOOOOO!'
'Anyway, whilst you were out, we were listening in on the conversations of various doctors and nurses coming into your room and the words they used were strange.' Second said, crossing his arms. 'They didn't mention quirks in a healing sense, not a single time was the word 'hero' mentioned, they were just wondering why you were wearing a weird costume as you came into the hospital.'
Izuku's stomach dropped.
"Does that mean by 'Exile'..." Izuku said slowly in increasing fright.
'Yes, we think that either we're in the past, or we're in the future. How far we are in the past or future is entirely unknown however. It would explain why Tokyo looks completely fine.' Third said.
Before Izuku could have a mental breakdown, he was saved by Seventh.
'However, remember that he said 'think', not 'know'. For all we know, this could just be a hospital that doesn't use quirks. Although I've never heard of one before.' Seventh added.
'Adding to that with the costume thing, no heroes were meant to be around here. Not all people know about you, so they might think you're a vigilante.' Fourth guessed.
"Maybe.." Izuku sighed. "I guess we'll have to find out. My mental breakdown can wait until we find somewhere to lay low."
All the past holders looked at each other with concern. The vestige of All Might radiated a warm feeling that calmed Izuku.
"Thanks, All Might." Izuku smiled.
'Successor. Concern. Rest. Please.' Eighth's incomplete vestige said.
"I will, don't worry All Might." Izuku reassured him.
Eighth smiled and went back to its usual dormant state.
Before Izuku could think about the implications of what being in a different Japan could possibly mean, if it was true that is, the door to his hospital room opened to reveal a doctor. The vestiges that manifested immediately disappeared upon hearing it.
"Hello, my name is Dr. Nakamura. How are you feeling?" The doctor asked, pulling out a chair and sitting next to the bed with a notebook and pen.
"I-I'm feeling okay, sir. Outside of my broken leg, I'm mostly fine I'd say." Izuku replied, obviously a lie. He can rely on Recovery Girl to help him in the case that Second and Third were blowing things out of proportion.
"Well, I imagine you want me to list all of your injuries?" Dr. Nakamura questioned, flipping some pages in his notebook.
Izuku, wanting to know the extent of his injuries, decides to entertain the question and agrees for him to be told about it.
"Well, where to start.." Izuku was getting a little nervous. "You now have two scars on your face. One is on the right side of your head and other is below your right eye to your chin. Many of your muscles were nearly destroyed in the process of whatever happened to you and there were countless fractures and lacerations. That's excluding the broken leg."
Izuku looked away in embarrassment. "Well, I don't know what happened really, I can't remember."
The doctor took a note in the notebook, presumably something about short-term amnesia.
"Can I ask you some questions? Just to see how your memory is." The doctor inquired.
Well, that confirms it.
"Yeah sure." Izuku replied.
"Okay." The doctor turned a page. "What's your name?"
"Midoriya Izuku."
"How old are you?"
"16."
"Who's the prime minister of Japan?"
"Uhh.. I don't know."
"What year is it?"
Izuku paused.
"Um, I don't remember. Can you tell me?"
The doctor quirked a brow. "It's 2018."
2018.
That was a few years before the first documented quirk appeared, the glowing baby in Qing Qing City, China.
Oh god.
What is he going to do?
Before he knows it, he starts to hyperventilate. He can't breathe properly. His friends, his teachers, his mom. They're not here anymore, he's never going to see them again.
He'll have to live alone, never again feeling the comfort and warmth of his mom's arms. Never again seeing the smile of Uraraka Ochako, his secret crush. Never again to see his friends. Worst of all, never again to see All Might, his idol.
"Breathe- It- Okay." The doctor said, but Izuku can't hear him.
He'll need to find somewhere to be, what is he going to do with his quirks? If there are no quirks, he can't let people see them. If he did, the entire world would go into uproar and would most likely try to find him. He's in danger from simply existing right now.
Izuku didn't want this.
He wants to see his friends again.
Izuku started to get tired, he didn't know why but his eyes were starting to close as if his body was forcing them to. Did he just get sedated?
Fuck.
Dr. Nakamura thought of himself as a man that wouldn't ever judge another person. He's seen a lot of things and never really felt much emotion towards it. Even the 'other' world, that he unwillingly entered due to his expertise as a doctor didn't really effect him. He honestly thought there were was possibly something wrong with him.
Seeing people from teenagers to adults either getting severely injured or even killed from what seemed to be absolutely nothing had brought him into it. He doesn't really know the specifics of where cursed spirits come from, he just specialises in going to situations where sorcerers are critically injured.
However, when he saw a teenage boy being brought into a hospital wearing a strange tattered costume, he couldn't help but think how weird it looked.
'Oh well, perhaps he went to a high school party or something. That wouldn't explain the injuries though..' He thought as he followed the paramedics.
"What are the injuries?" Nakamura asked as he observed the boy's body as he walked.
"His body is pretty much broken, its as if he was caught in a car crash but there was no signs of an altercation anywhere nearby. It's as if he was hurt from nothing." A paramedic said.
Nakamura found it lucky that he was knowledgeable about the other world, the cursed world. That would absolutely explain the injuries, perhaps he encountered a cursed spirit way above his skill level? Alas, he could be misunderstanding the situation. He can wait.
He would need to try and contact Ieiri Shoko. The only person that can use Reversed Cursed Technique, a technique that can heal other people. It sucked that she was extremely busy at the moment but he didn't know if the boy could be healed from traditional medical equipment. He would need to see the extent of his injuries but just by looking at him, it doesn't look good.
The boy looks almost crippled, his entire leg was nearly purple. What happened to him to cause this much injury?
Nakamura decided that he'd get it off of his mind for now, he didn't really enjoy thinking about the implications of what the backstory of these injuries could've been. He'll just wait until he can question him on it.
That he did.
A few days later, he had entered the boy's hospital room for one of his daily check-ups to see his health. Luckily, he had woke up.
Nakamura sighed in relief, he'd seen many people die in his career and he didn't feel like seeing another die today. He needed to stay professional though, so he did the normal stuff, then he gave the boy questions and strangely enough, he started to panic after he had told him what year it was.
Was he in a coma that put him in another life? He had seen anecdotes like that on the internet and he couldn't help but think that was case.
However, he needs to try and calm the boy. He did the best he could but it was no use. He made the tough decision to sedate him. He hates sedating people whilst they're in panic because it just felt immoral to him, he should just let the boy try to calm himself down but its protocol in case he becomes violent.
He let out a dramatic sigh. Yeah, he'd definitely need to contact Ieiri Shoko.
Izuku awoke once again, in the hospital room he had woke up in before.
So, he's in the past now.
Great.
He doesn't know why he isn't panicking anymore but he guessed the anaesthesia was still having an effect on his body.
"What's the plan?" Izuku said, to other people it'd look like he's either talking to himself or talking to no one but Izuku didn't care.
All of the past holders manifested around his hospital bed.
'We're not sure, if we are back in 2018, then that means All for One would be born within the next few years.' Second said, bringing some hope back into Izuku's heart.
'It'll be in 2024 to be exact, that's in a long time though so it doesn't need to be a priority right now.' First corrected.
'The main priority is healing back up, the extent of your injuries are bad but you'll still be able to move as you've only used 100% on your legs once.' Fourth said.
"It's going to be strange, not being able to rely on Recovery Girl to heal me now.." Izuku mumbled, dreading the fact that he'll be bedridden for the next few weeks.
'It will be.' Third agreed. 'However, that should be your only priority at the moment. After you're back to full health, we can figure out how we can live.'
'I think now that we're in a safe place, we should talk more about that strange energy.' Fifth said, making some of the holders groan as its honestly unknown what it is.
'Well, the only things we know is that it appeared when Shigaraki used that quirk on us and that it feels malevolent, added with the fact that Ninth can't feel it.' First listed.
"I still can't.." Izuku muttered.
'Meaning that we honestly have no idea what it could be. It's concerning but for now, it seems locked away so it shouldn't be bothersome.' Second continued.
"I'm concerned as to how Shigaraki was able to obtain a quirk that achieved time travel. That seems extremely overpowered." Izuku said, he never knew that quirks could get so powerful. The most powerful quirk he could think of that effected reality was Star and Stripe's 'New Order' that practically imposed rules onto her surroundings.
'That doctor was probably involved in it, if he's able to copy All for One then it's not farfetched to think that he's able to create new quirks. It's still worrisome though.' Sixth said, surprising everyone since he nearly hasn't said a word since Izuku's fight with Shigaraki.
'Actually, why've ya been so quiet, Sixth?' Fifth questioned.
'I've just been thinking..' Sixth mumbled.
'About? It could be useful.' Third asked.
'Well, what if that energy is Ninth's original quirk? A quirk that was triggered from the quirk that Shigaraki used?'
All of the holders froze.
'That's a good point..' Second muttered.
'How did we miss that?!' Fifth screamed.
"There's no way. I was diagnosed as quirkless. I have the double joint in my pinkie toe, there's just no way that I have a quirk." Izuku said.
He was diagnosed quirkless. He tried to use a quirk as best as he could as a kid and it came to no avail, there's just no universe where he could have a quirk.
'That's why I didn't want to say anything...' Sixth replied, disappointed that he was wrong, although he already knew he was.
"Anywa-"
'Be quiet.' Fourth said, cutting him off.
The door opened once again, this time however, it wasn't Dr. Nakamura that came into the room. It was a woman.
She had long brown hair that extended down to her shoulders with brown eyes with dark lines under them that Izuku presumed it was due to how tiring the job of a doctor was. She also had a mole under her right eye. She wore a blue shirt overlayed by a doctor's coat and navy blue pants.
"Hello, I'm Ieiri Shoko. Dr. Nakamura told me you have some grievous injuries. Looking at your current state, he wasn't wrong." The doctor now known as Ieiri said.
Izuku sweatdropped at the bluntness of this new doctor. He definitely hasn't met a doctor that acted this way before in his year as a hero in training.
"Y-Yeah.." Izuku replied awkwardly, looking down at the state of his body.
'Wow, I never actually looked at my body, it doesn't look that great.' Izuku thought.
'Agreed.' All of the past holders replied in his mind.
"So, what grade was the cursed spirit you were fighting?" Ieiri asked.
What?
Cursed spirit?
Grade?
"W-w-w-w..WHAT?"
'Well, this sure is a breakthrough.' Second said in surprise.
'It looks like we were wrong. Ninth, get to the bottom of this.' First ordered.
"What are cursed spirits? What do you mean, 'grade'?" Izuku questioned.
"Oh, looks like Nakamura was wrong, silly me." Ieiri chuckled whilst placing a hand on Izuku's chest. "Stay still."
Izuku, shocked by the action at first, followed her order and stayed still. After a few seconds, his body started to repair itself abnormally fast. It was exactly like Recovery Girl's quirk except he didn't need to be kissed for it to work.
"Woah.. that's a cool quirk!" Izuku beamed, unable to keep himself from complimenting her ability.
"Quirk?" Ieiri raised a brow. "I don't know what that is but it's not a 'quirk', whatever that means."
Oh.
He really was somewhere else.
He'd never heard about any kind of ability before quirks so he couldn't be in the past.
If no one knows what a quirk is then he certainly isn't in the future.
Where was he then?
Before he knew it, she was about to leave. Izuku immediately called out her because he has to get information on what she meant.
"Wait! Please tell me, what are cursed spirits?" Izuku nearly yelled out of desperation.
Ieiri sighed and came back to him, sitting down on a chair.
"I'll keep this brief. Cursed spirits are practically a race of spiritual beings that are invisible to most humans. They are born from the leaking of cursed energy from all humans due to their negative emotions. Emotions such as grief, sadness, stress and anger can give birth to cursed spirits. They haunt and bring harm to humanity, so they have to be killed." Ieiri explained whilst lighting a cigarette.
Izuku didn't question it as there are more important things to ask about.
"What is cursed energy? Who kills cursed spirits?" Izuku asked.
"It's a form of spiritual energy that leaks from humans as a result of their negative emotions, it makes up the bodies of cursed spirits. There are people called sorcerers that utilize cursed energy to combat cursed spirits. They do it by using abilities called 'Cursed Techniques'." Ieiri replied, getting back up from the chair. "Anyway, I'm a busy person. I have to go."
"Thanks a lot for the information." Izuku said, sitting up on the bed to bow.
"It's no problem." Ieiri chuckled. "I only told you because I can sense the amount of cursed energy you have, it's quite a lot."
As she left, Izuku sighed in exasperation. There's no way he's in the past or future now. He may be in a completely different universe entirely.
"That was a conversation." Izuku remarked, standing up from the bed.
'Hm, at least it explains the energy we are sensing inside of us.' Fourth said. 'This can be useful.'
'I agree. Ninth, leave the hospital. Let's find somewhere to lay low and find some of these cursed spirits.' Second ordered.
Izuku searched for his costume. Luckily, it hadn't been thrown out. He still had Gran Torino's cape.
'Thank Kami, this costume is my only memory of all of my friends and mentors.' Izuku smiled, he wouldn't know what to do if it was all thrown out.
Oh wait, he doesn't have any clothes.
'Don't worry about it, just leave from the window and find somewhere to lay low. Chances are, maybe we can find someone doing a crime and we can take some money from them to pay for food and clothing.' Third said.
"B-But.. stealing from people is bad!" Izuku shrieked.
'We have no choice. You have no registered identity so you can't get a job. The only thing we can do is loot from criminals. It isn't a great thing to live on, I know. However, the other choice is dying from thirst or hunger.' First added, shooting Izuku's argument down.
He really didn't want to steal from people but First and Third are right, he had no other choice.
"Fine." Izuku admitted. "However, I refuse to steal all of it, just enough to live on."
'That's fine, we just need to live somehow.' Second replied.
Izuku knew that he'd be too guilty to leave the hospital without a notice, so he searched for a piece of paper and a pen and wrote a note.
Before you panic, I'm okay.
I'm sorry for leaving without a notice but it's for reasons I cannot explain.
I'm back at full health and I'll be going on with my life.
Thank you for taking care of me.
From, Midoriya Izuku.
With that done, Izuku slid the corner of the note under a small vase on a desk and opened the window, breathing in fresh air for the first time in days.
"Here goes nothing." Izuku mumbled as he slid out of the window and jumped off of the wall.
He charged up 5% of One for All to handle the landing and smashed his feet against the grass, launching a small gush of air.
Seeing that it was night-time and no one was around, Izuku launched off of the ground onto a rooftop and travelled around the city searching for an abandoned home that he could sleep in for the near future. He admired the structures that whilst looked familiar, it felt so foreign. He's in a new world now and quirks don't exist anymore.
He had went all around Japan during his time as a vigilante after the war in Jaku City back in his old world, especially Tokyo and Kyoto, meaning that he luckily knows the layout of the city.
Jumping from rooftop to rooftop with One for All, careful to catch any cameras in the area, Izuku has a conversation with the past holders.
"So there are cursed spirits. These cursed spirits are formed from cursed energy, which is an energy that everyone, including me now, has. It comes from negative emotions and people called sorcerers can use it to fight cursed spirits. Not to mention, sorcerers also have 'Cursed Techniques' that I presume stems from cursed energy." Izuku listed.
'Yes, exactly. That means Shigaraki's quirk, Exile, didn't force this energy into you. It was a consequence of coming into this world.' Third confirmed.
"This means that I'm technically not alone. That also means that I'll need to disguise One for All as a Cursed Technique." Izuku pointed out, dreading the moment he'll need to lie about it. He's not a very good liar.
'Since that woman somehow sensed your cursed energy, that means you'll have to use One for All in tandem with cursed energy in case others can sense it too.' Second added.
"Wait what? She did?" Izuku asked in shock.
'Were ya not listening, kid?' Fifth questioned in surprise. 'It wasn't hard to miss.'
"S-Sorry.. my thoughts were more concerned about these cursed spirits." Izuku mumbled in embarrassment.
'You'll need to figure out how to control cursed energy quickly, Ninth.' First ordered. 'This world might have our equivalent of villains. If people find out that you don't have a cursed technique but a different kind of ability. They'll want to know what it is.'
"Yeah.. I just need to find somewhere to live first. I know just the place." Izuku said as he made his way to an abandoned house in the outskirts of Tokyo.
He had found various places to live during his time that his classmates loved to call his 'Dark Deku Arc'. He found it funny but didn't like the implications of the 'Dark' part of it. However, he wished he could hear them joke about it once again but he'll never be able to see them again.
He finally got into the area of the house and examined his surroundings, it seemed to look identical to how it was in his own world.
Strange.
He thought that it'd look different. Ignoring that he's in a different world entirely, he's like 200 years in the past. It was 2214 when he fought Shigaraki, so he's definitely surprised that there's no difference. He won't complain though.
Seeing the familiar abandoned home that he stayed in, he smiled. "It looks like there's nothing to worry about for now."
'It's great that you have somewhere to stay now. Settle into your new home and go out on patrol to find some money.' Second replied.
Izuku grumbled at the fact that he'll need to steal from someone but again, he has no choice in this matter.
Jumping from the final rooftop, he landed at the door of the house. Hearing no one inside, he opened the door and it looked exactly as it looked when he had entered it the first time. Dirt and grime covered the walls and floors.
"Home sweet home." Izuku remarked as he walked into the living room containing a tattered sofa and a small desk with a VHS television on it. "It's not the greatest place to live but at least it's familiar."
'It's always good to have a familiar thing in a foreign place, Ninth.' First said.
"I know. I just wish I could go back home." Izuku sighed, dropping onto the sofa and resting his head against the hard and uncomfortable arm.
'It'll be okay, Ninth. I'm sure if there was a way here then there's probably a way back home.' Seventh replied, trying to comfort him as best as she could.
However, she didn't even know if they could go back to their world either.
"You're right, Seventh. I'll just figure out what to do in the meanti-"
brzzz
Danger Sense.
Izuku immediately turned to the direction where the pain in his head was coming from and saw a monster of ridiculous proportions crawling on the wall; it looked out of a horror movie. It was a humanoid creature with grey skin. It had proportionally huge eyeballs and crawled on extremely long arms and legs with a disgustingly huge stomach.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?!" Izuku screamed, jumping off of the couch and getting into a shaky fighting stance.
'Holy fuck..." Second muttered in shock.
'Is that.. a fuckin' cursed spirit?!' Fifth yelled.
'Ninth, you have to take it out of its misery now. Remember, that's not a human. It's a monster.' First immediately ordered.
'Agreed, as the woman said, it only exists to bring harm to people, nothing more.' Fourth added.
Izuku, knowing that the cursed spirit could be harmful to other people, immediately coiled Blackwhip around the monster and threw it out of the still open door to the outside world. It groaned and tried desperately to get out of the bindings but the grip of the whips were too strong for it.
"What do I do? Can't they only be harmed by cursed energy?" Izuku asked the other holders, scared that One for All won't have an effect on these monsters.
'Try punching it with One for All, perhaps they're only harmed by cursed energy because people in this world don't have super strength quirks like you do.' Third answered.
With Third's words making sense, Izuku pulled the creature towards him with Blackwhip and hit it with a 10% punch to the stomach. It screamed and now is thrashing against the bindings but other than that, nothing happened.
'It seems that the strength of the punch is having an effect on it but cannot be killed due to no cursed energy being put into it.' First said, confirming Izuku's fears.
"What do I do then?!" Izuku screamed, panicking due to the fact that he can't let a cursed spirit be near him, especially when he's sleeping.
'You'll have to try and harness cursed energy into your fists. From what the doctor told us, it stems from negative emotions. Try to use your panic and fear to punch it.' Second advised.
"I have no idea how to do it but I'll try." Izuku muttered, before his mind went to the fear that he had for this monster.
His human fear for this monster
The panic of the fact that he'll never see the people he cares about again.
He fuels himself with these thoughts and readies a ground shattering punch. Before he knows it, his arm is consumed by green flames. He presumed it was his newfound cursed energy and punched it as hard as he possibly could with 5% of One for All to prevent destruction in his surroundings.
"5% CURSED DETROIT SMASH!" Izuku yelled as his punch shattered the monster, sending a gruesome amount of purple blood everywhere.
Izuku sighed in relief as his adrenaline started to go back down.
"T-That... was scary.." Izuku muttered as he stared at the scene that he just created.
'At least we know what to expect.' First replied. 'Plus, you've used cursed energy for the first time now.'
'Yeah, the energy doesn't feel as locked away now. It's more flowing around your body now, great job.' Third added.
Izuku knew he'd have to sleep with one eye open tonight.
