    Summary

    New York City, 1977.

Lottie didn't know why she was here. Well, she did know - her friend Taissa wanted some company at her girlfriend's gig, and Lottie was a good friend. Besides, she didn't have any other plans that Thursday evening, and she loved live music. But this, this was not live music.

The university's small, and usually much quieter, student center accommodated a tiny, improvised stage, and a small crowd of (mostly) confused students. It was overwhelming. The sounds of the drums and guitar mashed together messily were accompanied by lyrics that couldn't even be English, you couldn't even hear the bass.

But, oh, there was definitely a bass. In the right corner of the stage, Lottie noticed, stood a sexy thing with bleached-blonde hair and a leather jacket playing the instrument. Her pretty mouth moved along to the lyrics with passion, her pretty head banged with the music. Too bad the music was shit.

    OR

1970s New York AU where the city is alive, music is everywhere and Lottie could use some quiet, but finds she might love the noise after all.
