Alone, in his room on the ship, Mae's words haunted Kenji like a predator following its prey. He’d just said his final goodbye to the scientist and was now back on the ship, departing for Mantah Corp Island. While he was in action, he could at least focus on something else - find Mae, don't get eaten by a T-Rex. Now, with nothing to distract him, his own thoughts crashed on him like a merciless wave.
He'd grown up believing that it was his duty to repair his ruined relationship with his father. His whole life he'd tried to force his father to love him. But Mae was right.

He couldn't fully name what his father had been showing him these last days, but one thing was sure: It wasn't love. It never would be, no matter what Kenji would do. And as much as that hurt, these recent realisations felt strangely liberating. Kenji could finally be at peace, knowing that he himself had maybe never been the actual problem in this relationship.
All he wanted right now was to return to the way things have been before. Laugh with his friends, save dinosaurs; far away from this soulless company and its owner...
In a few hours they would arrive on the island. He knew he should use his remaining time to create a plan - to save Bumpy, help the Camp Fam, redeem his mistakes… But what plan could he alone possibly make against the entire force of Mantah Corp?
