Grian offers Scar companionship. Scar offers Grian money. Grian offers Scar an ear to listen. Scar offers Grian free food and board. Grian offers Scar a shoulder to cry on. Scar offers Grian a peek into a life that was a far cry from his own. Their arrangement, while unusual, was a matter of convenience. And with the lives they both led, that's how it was supposed to stay. They didn't need anything more than the surface level companionship that the two had grown accustomed to.
