The furies are considered the agents of Hades. And Hades is considered the master of the Underworld, where the dead reside. With limited knowledge in Greek myth, this would be perfect for Sophie’s need of a team.
And with Sarah studying abroad in Greece, it would be a good reminder of who she abandoned before she ruled over the world. Sarah would definitely not be on board with her hijinks though. Too bad. She’d try to recruit her anyway.
The name was only the first part of her plan. Next, she needed to figure out who would be loyal to her destructive and total rule.
With her powers of destruction that could rival gods, she needed an elite team, a random nobody wouldn’t work. But this required planning, so she doodled with a red crayon that looked like it had seen war when she was done with it. What she drew, it contained everything: a list of who could fit with a red string strung across her wall, supersuit designs only a child could think of, and total destruction of her enemies and her sitting on a throne, surrounded by stick figures labeled as her furies.
After a while, she understood who could fill the shoes of her elite team. It would be girls, because boys were stinky and it definitely wouldn't be anyone she didn’t like. That would be sucky and no fun.
So she looked throughout all of Smallville, destroying a few houses here and there for fun, because that was important too.
She decided on four. Four would be manageable and four could be enough to help her on her mission without possibly betraying her. After long deliberation, she decided on Sarah, Denise (Jonathan Kent’s ex-situationship), Candice (Jonathan’s ex-girlfriend), and Natalie Irons.
It was perfect. This would definitely work and the fruits of her labors would soon come. Yes, yes, everything was going to plan accordingly. The next part would be the hardest: recruiting them after learning her true plans.
