Summary
Thomas Baker is an American college student studying abroad in Paris when a night out drinking with other boys turns into something far more sinister. In an attempt to flee a deadly fate, he instead encounters Lady Marié Evereaux, a centuries-old vampire who brings him into her world of magic and darkness in order to save his life. In her Hôtel Pied de Alouette and beyond, Thomas will learn much about Paris' supernatural underground, history, swordplay, magic, and even himself.

The fledgling vampire will battle beside and against witches, demons, lycanthropes, and more in her slow and inevitable unraveling of not only the conspiracy that brought her here, but its dark and cruel past.
