Chapter Text
Lucifer wasn’t avoiding his responsibilities.
He wasn’t.
So, what if he was sneaking to Earth? He wasn’t avoiding his duties in Hell, he told himself as he tried to open a discreet portal to Earth. He opened the portal and waited for anything to happen, maybe for Sera to open a portal herself to tell him to go back to Hell. When nothing happened, he carefully stepped through the threshold.
Lucifer stood in the middle of a desert.
Hm.
Maybe he should have actually tried to find a city to teleport to. Lucifer stared at the landscape and felt an emotion that he didn’t want to deal with at the moment and spread his wings. He took off into the air and breathed in the smell of his surroundings. It smelled infinitely better than the fumes of Pentagon city.
Lucifer flew for quite a while, and he stared at the desert in silence with a small smile on his face. He eventually came upon a town and hesitated before he began to descend. Once he was close enough, he carefully changed his appearance to that of a human. Lucifer nervously fixed his clothes and ventured into the small town.
Small was good. Small meant that he wouldn’t meet too many humans.
He stared at the billboard as he walked into town, curious about this Jasper, Nevada. He didn’t see any humans for a few minutes and wondered if this was an abandoned town when one of them walked by.
Lucifer stopped and stared.
It was a human.
One that might possibly never go to Hell.
He took a step forward before he paused. If he was discovered here then he would get into so much trouble, and if they found out he talked to a human? The punishment might be severe…
He stood there long enough that he noticed he was receiving strange stares from the humans that ventured into the area. Lucifer’s face heated before he cleared his throat and continued down the street. At the very least he would like to see the town before he went back to Hell.
Just to go back to his empty palace…
Lucifer furrowed his eyebrows and sighed. He was pathetic, wasn’t he?
He decided to ignore his woes for the moment and looked into the windows of some shops he walked by. This was nothing like Hell. He didn’t see a single sex shop so far. Very strange.
Lucifer smiled when he saw a couple kids in the distance. It almost reminded him of Charlie.
Who he hasn’t spoken to for a few months…
The smile disappeared and he sighed as he turned to walk away when the child on the motorcycle went into an alleyway that he had a perfect view of.
Lucifer stopped walking when he saw the child get off the motorcycle and the motorcycle…
He watched as it transformed into a robot.
A robot.
That was a robot.
Lucifer blinked repeatedly before he saw the robot break something off a wall and hand it to the child. It transformed back into a bike and the kid got on and began to drive away.
Hold on a moment.
Lucifer ran into an alleyway and turned off the glamour before he took off for the sky. He looked around, furrowing his eyebrows when he couldn’t find the child or the bike. What happened to them? Unknown to Lucifer, the child and the bike had gone into a groundbridge. After a while he had to call it quits and opened a portal back to Hell.
Hopefully no one noticed his disappearance.
Not that anyone would notice…
The next time he snuck to Earth he found another robot.
This one obviously different from the bike, since it flew by while he had been flying through the air. Lucifer let out a yelp when the jet almost hit him as it flew by. He scowled and waved a fist after it. Darn humans, he thought, as it began to descend. He quickly changed his thought when he saw it transform and land on the ground.
Lucifer let out a small gasp and quickly began to fly to land close. This was a robot so he wouldn’t need to disguise himself. So, when he drew close, he landed on the ground and hid behind the boulder that was big enough to hide him from sight. He peered around the corner and saw the robot looking around their rocky surroundings.
“Where is it?”
It could talk!! Lucifer leaned further out and tried to see what it was doing. It was quite a large robot. He figured the humans would try to make them around their size. The robot held up a device and began to walk forward. Lucifer shifted into a snake and began to slither after it.
“Soundwave!! Are you sure it’s around here?” It was talking to someone, maybe another robot? “Very well. I’ll find it.”
Lucifer kept a careful distance back, surprised when he heard the robot begin grumbling. He didn’t think humans were advanced enough to make robots with personalities. Unless… this wasn’t made by humans…?
While he was lost in thought the robot began to follow the signal on the device in its hands. “I have to find it before the Autobots arrive.” It muttered.
Autobots?
Lucifer followed for quite a long time before the robot found something. It muttered something and began to wave around a small device it found in the ground.
“Soundwave, it’s nothing!! Just a broken piece of what I can only assume is MECH’s machinery.” It turned around and Lucifer got a good look at its face. “I swear, those humans are only getting more annoying.”
Humans…
Well, that confirmed that these robots weren’t made by humans. Lucifer began vibrating in excitement but that brought the robot’s attention to him. He froze and burrowed into the sand.
The robot sneered(actually sneered) and began to walk back. “Soundwave, open a spacebridge, I’m not flying back. I almost hit a bird before.” It sounded disgusted.
Lucifer was insulted.
He wasn’t a bird. At the moment, anyway.
He watched in awe as a portal(different than his) opened and the robot walked right in.
This. Was. Amazing!!!
Lucifer turned back into his normal self and began jumping in spot. This was very, very amazing!!! These weren’t humans, and it spoke like it wasn’t made by humans. Were these… aliens?
He began giggling excitedly.
The next time he arrived on Earth he began to determinedly look for the jet, since he had only had a momentary glance at the motorcycle, so he didn’t know what to look for if he tried looking for a bike. It took a few trips, secret trips, and when he finally found the robot he discovered that it had a ship.
Lucifer was flying through the air as a bird. He didn’t want any humans spotting him and trying to shoot him down. He was minding his own business, singing a beautiful song, when a couple jets flew by and almost hit him. He squawked and began glaring after them. They were purple jets, and he had a pretty good feeling that these were robots so he began to catch up as fast as he could as a bird.
That’s when he found their ship.
Lucifer was in awe as he saw the massive ship. There was no way humans made this. These were definitely aliens!!! Lucifer flew close and got to the landing area, turning into tarantula as he scurried inside before the wind blew him off the ship. Now, where to go?
He began to just wander the ship, excitedly looking out for robots as he ventured forth. He carefully avoided the patrols, making sure to not get stepped on, and eventually found the bridge. When he wandered in he found the jet.
It was standing on the bridge and making some comments to another robot.
“Lord Megatron has been gone for decacycles, where is he?”
He?
Lucifer marvelled that these robots had pronouns while the other robot turned towards the jet. The jet stared at the screen on his(?) face and scowled.
“I know it’s none of my business, but he is the leader of the Decepticons, last I checked.” The jet snarked as he turned away.
Decepticons?
Lucifer watched for quite a while before he began to get tired of hearing the jet complain and left the bridge when the doors opened. After a while he opened a portal back to Hell and hoped his appearance wasn’t noticed.
Hm.
Lucifer laid on his bed, holding up an arm as he stared at it.
Could he turn into one of them?
A smile began to crawl across his face before he got up and opened a portal to Earth. He carefully stepped through and, once he deemed it safe, he began to hold his arms out as he thought about it. Robots. Robots were made is metal. So, he just had to think metal thoughts.
Metal.
Metal music.
Metal machinery.
Metal thoughts…
Lucifer felt foolish but he began to shift his body. It actually took a while before he felt satisfied. He stood there for a moment before he summoned a mirror. He scowled when he saw that he looked identical to that jet. He needed more imagination.
He began to shift his appearance to look more like himself and after a while he was somewhat satisfied. He was a jet. Maybe? He wouldn’t really know. Once he was done he looked at the mirror again and could see himself, somewhat. He obviously looked different compared to before. Although, he would need to fix his size if he wanted to fit in, so to speak. He began to grow in size, but without a robot there for comparison he couldn’t really tell if he had the right dimensions.
Lucifer looked at the tiny mirror and fixed it so that it was bigger. He smiled as he looked at himself.
This was amazing…
Never in his life could he have imagined this, and he’s imagined a lot of things throughout his existence.
For now, he would need to figure out how to transform and look like a jet. He’s seen them transform before. It shouldn’t be difficult to mimic it, right?
It was difficult.
Lucifer stared at his phone after hanging up.
Another unanswered call to his wife. Or was she even his wife anymore? Hard to say… Lucifer brought his legs onto the bed and wrapped his arms around them. He furrowed his eyebrows and sighed. He needed…
He didn’t know what he needed.
After a while he dragged his feet to his workstation to work on another project. He sat down and began to work on a design and once he was done he saw that it looked a lot like that jet he had seen. Lucifer snorted with a small smile before he raised his head.
It’s been a while.
Surely no one would notice if he snuck off to Earth…
It didn’t take long to walk through a portal and once he did he quickly shifted into a robot. This was so exciting. Lucifer held up a hand and tapped his digits against his palm, hearing the click that they made. If he met with one of those robots then surely he would blend in, right? Not that he had any intention of interacting with them. Only an idiot would try to do that.
And… okay, Lucifer could be an idiot sometimes but he wasn’t that big of an idiot.
He’d just fly through the skies and avoid the robots.
So, he transformed, shifting the plates, and began to fly through the sky. It was amazing. He could fly as fast as he wanted.
He would have enjoyed this.
Had he not been found by the robots.
Lucifer was trying to see how fast he could go when he heard static. The static was weird. Being joined by two jets? Also weird. Lucifer almost opened a portal back to Hell but he was flying too fast and he wasn’t sure if he would be able to stop. So, he just flew faster to get away from the two that were following him. Surely, he could lose them. He heard something but got too far away.
He laughed in satisfaction as they got further away and would have opened a portal to go somewhere else to slow down if he didn’t hear another jet. Lucifer paused when he saw something in his peripheral, seeing the jet from before quickly catching up.
“What the hell?” Lucifer had enough time to ask before he was being shot at. “What the hell?!!!!”
He dodged the attacks as quickly as he could and decided, fuck it, he was out of here. He tried to open a portal when he was hit. He let out a grunt as he slowed down considerably, inwardly wincing as he descended to the ground. Once he was close he transformed and quickly healed his wound. He had to get out of here, now.
He opened a portal and ran through, closing it behind himself and quickly shifting back to normal.
“Ouch.” Lucifer muttered as he looked at the scorch mark on his side.
He panted and decided that was it for a while, he was going to watch his soap opera.
“Who is that?”
Lord Megatron, leader of the Decepticons, demanded as he looked at the recording from Starscream. He watched as Starscream quickly caught up to the mysterious jet that got too close to their ship. They thought that maybe it was a stray human but the speed? It wasn’t normal so Starscream had been sent and quickly shot it down.
It turned out to be a cybertronian, but none that any of them recognized.
He watched the recording of Starscream following the jet to the ground and watched as they transformed into quite a small cybertronian and ran through a golden portal.
“Do you recognize him?” Megatron gave Starscream a mighty glare.
Starscream hunched his shoulders. “No, my Lord, I’ve never seen him before, especially one with his coloring.”
This was a bright white jet. One would think a cybertronian would try to disguise themselves so as to not stand out.
“Soundwave?” Megatron questioned, turning his head to see that their third in command was connected to the database.
Soundwave was quickly looking through the data for any mech that matched the appearance of the mysterious cybertronian but he shook his helm. Megatron narrowed his optics and turned to glare at the screen.
“Keep an optic out. I want this seeker found and brought before me.” Megatron turned and glared at his soldiers. They all straightened up when he faced them. “He was fast enough to almost shake Starscream. He might prove to be useful against the Autobots.”
Starscream was the fastest seeker they had. The fact that this mysterious cybertronian almost lost him was quite the feat. Starscream appeared to be quite bitter about that, given the look on his face. Not that Megatron cared. He was more concerned about this new seeker.
“We have to find him before the Autobots.” Megatron stood regal before his soldiers. “Send out patrols.”
