MEMORANDUM
TO: TRH The Duke of Tyrrendor General Xaden Riorson, The Duchess of Tyrrendor General Violet Riorson
FROM: General Jesinia Neilwart
SUBJECT: The Battle of Aretia
259 Tyrrish riders and 134 Navarrian riders, 9,336 Tyrrish and Navarrian infantry, 26 Tyrrish and Navarrian healers, 4 Tyrrish and Navarrian scribes, and 21,745 Tyrrish civilians were killed on July 1, 628 AU. We commend their souls to Malek.
At approximately 0813 HOURS on JULY 1, 628 AU, 1stLt. CORMAC TIERNEY, TYRRISH, fell from the back of his bonded dragon, AIRNE, after being shot in the chest area with an arrow by Maj. ULREN KEDROW, NAVARRIAN, from the back of her dragon, DOHMN. The kill took place near Aretia, and it came after what eyewitnesses have described as "an angry, incredibly heated exchange between the two." 1stLt. CORMAC TIERNEY, TYRRISH's death was the catalyst, and fighting amongst the TYRRISH and NAVARRIAN forces quickly turned chaotic and uncontrollable.
At approximately 1738 HOURS on JULY 1, 628 AU, Gen. AUGUSTINE MELGREN, NAVARRIAN was executed by SGAEYL, the bonded dragon of 2ndLt. XADEN RIORSON, TYRRISH. Subsequent was the death of CODAGH, the bonded dragon of Gen. AUGUSTINE MELGREN, NAVARRIAN, who passed at 2354 HOURS on JULY 1, 628 AU. CODAGH was the final battlefield casualty on either side. According to a statement given by 1stLt. XADEN RIORSON, TYRRISH, Gen. AUGUSTINE MELGREN, NAVARRIAN was executed for the illegal slaughter of his father, HRH The Duke of Tyrrendor Gen. FEN RIORSON, TYRRISH, whose title was then passed onto his son and heir, HRH The Duke of Tyrrendor 1stLt. XADEN RIORSON, TYRRISH and his legal spouse HRH The Duchess of Tyrrendor 2ndLt. VIOLET RIORSON, TYRRISH.
Aretia began to burn at 1343 HOURS on JULY 1, 628 AU after it was passed over by an unknown regiment of NAVARRIAN riders and their dragons, whom eyewitnesses have stated "breathed fire across the city." The only building in Aretia that remains completely intact at the time of writing [0756 HOURS, JULY 4, 628 AU] is Riorson House. Out of approximately 64,000 civilians who were present in Aretia during the early hours of JULY 1, 628 AU, around two-thirds were able to escape with their lives. At the time of writing [0757 HOURS, JULY 4, 628 AU], 18,464 TYRRISH civilians have succumbed to wounds directly resultant from what has been named "The Great Burning of Aretia." The fire was completely extinguished by the morning of JULY 3, 628 AU. There were 31,503 casualties between 0813 HOURS and 2354 HOURS on JULY 1, 628 AU. This does not account for any casualties that occurred after 2354 HOURS on JULY 1, 628 AU as a result of wounds sustained on the battlefield or as a result of warfare between 0813 HOURS and 2354 HOURS on JULY 1, 628 AU. The final death toll will be calculated on JULY 31, 628 AU, and counting will be resumed should any casualties occur as a result of wounds sustained on the battlefield or as a result of warfare between 0813 HOURS and 2354 HOURS on JULY 1, 628 AU.
