    I’ve written countless first meetings, but this time I want to explore something different—a new meeting. In this story, Jamie and Claire are not strangers, nor fresh lovers, but past lovers. Their history is tangled, their bond fractured.

    What happened between them? Why are they broken? Do the feelings linger, buried beneath years of silence and regret? And most of all—can this be fixed?

    Chapter One begins in a London hospital. Claire is sharp, guarded, and annoyed to find herself face‑to‑face with him again. Jamie, on the other hand, carries a flicker of hope, unwilling to let go of what they once had.
