   Summary

   Grendel is a wretched little beast who grew up trying to explore all possible wretched little outcomes that his life may create. This is, of course, rather dangerous in a world where Beowulf never survives to become the hero who would otherwise give Grendel his just desserts. No, here Grendel is allowed to do as he wants, and really the only 'threat' to that is Unferth, a young man who is... passionately unequipped to stop his rampage. At least he is trying his best, and really at some point even Grendel must recognize that. It would be so boring otherwise.
