Work Text:
The alarm on both Brighteyes and Shedletsky's phone went off, going in unison.
Shedletsky groaned loudly, turning off both alarms before trying to go back to bed.
"Sheddy Spaghetti..~" Brighteyes mumbled out, stretching her limbs before gently pushing off the cuddling avian. "We need to get to the HQ..! C'mon, let me get some coffee for us..!"
"5 more minutes, Bright..!" Shedletsky exclaimed, his voice raspy and his throat scratchy. He wanted to get up and drink water, but it would take away the sleepiness!!
Brighteyes sighed heavily, turning her head so that she could admire her husband.
Shedletsky was laying on his back, the wing that was facing the wall was sprawled out, being large enough to stretch out to the floor. The other wing was only half-way folded, only stretched out enough for it to cover Brighteyes. His face was turned to the side, his arms hugging the pillow that he rested his head on. He was wearing his chicken onesie, making him look more like a plushie than an admin.
The onesie's zipper was down do his upper stomach, his chest being sorta exposed. Brighteyes could see the chest hairs that mixed with his feathers on him.
Brighteyes hummed softly, resisting the urge to bury her face in his chest, fluff up his hair, or to just hug him. Shedletsky was a bit grumpy, and just wanted to catch some more Z's at the moment.
Even so, Brighteyes started to mindlessly preen Shedletsky's wing- the one that was covering her. She hoped that it wouldn't wake him up or anything.
After a few minutes, Brighteyes glanced at her phone. It was about to be 7AM right now, which meant that work has already started. Brighteyes blinked slowly, her brain not really processing it even if she stared at it. She thought it was 7PM.
She looked back at her sleeping husband before gently hugging him. Her hands went down to squeeze Shedletsky's belly before kissing him on the neck with a small giggle.
"No touchie," *Shedletsky muttered out, opening his eyes and squinting at his wife before sticking his tongue out at him.
"Okay, birdie," *Brighteyes gently replied, wrapping one hand around him. She straddled his stomach as a way to get closer. "You'll always be my birdie, no matter how scary you used to be..~"
"Oh, c'mon, Bright..! I outgrew that years ago!!"
Brighteyes giggled as Shedletsky pecked her forehead, cupping her face before gently flicking it, making sure he didn't actually put any strength behind it.
"Okay, fiinnee," Brighteyes suddenly said with a dramatic groan.
"Huh?" Shedletsky mumbled, opening his eyes.
"Maybe 5 more minutes wouldn't hurt.."
